critique please?

Hi guys, I've been wanting to do this since a couple of months already, but only recently got the time for it.

I am not a professional and will not claim I am one. I'm just a regular joe who use most of his spare time rendering terragen renders and surfing the web.

So, I wanted to upload two photos I edited months ago. I used an old app named ACDSee Fotocanvas (7-years old app) to mess around with those photos.

the only thing I'll say to spare you the details is that I didn't use any filters (there isn't really any filters for Fotocanvas anyway). I only used stuff like contrast/brightness/gamma and red/green/blue.

I want your opinion, and tips which will help me with future photos.

there's also a comparison between my first photo and what it looked like before it got edited. :)

note: It's just a pellet gun.

Not sure how to critique this.....this being a photography forum and all....seems more like a photoshop critique.
