Forum Updates

I have noticed that when I respond to a thread in a forum and it's the only active thread, if I don't actually go to the subforum screen but just go to link from the main forum then when I return to the main forum the subforum says that there's still unread threads in there. While it's not so bad while it's still reasonably quiet over here, could we change it so that when things heat up a bit more then we won't have to look in every forum to see if there's any other threads active?
