perhaps you should moan at davi for a fashion photography section

I'd say editorial might be best?

I really like #1 and #3.

#1 has a nice otherworldly look to it. Although, I wish it had a bit more contrast to help it "pop" more.

In #3, the lens flare works well with the mood, a bit distracting though, but still nice.

Thanks all!

Grumbledook: LOl moan. I don't really know davi... *shy towards strangers* Yeah maybe I'd post it in editorial.

purplerose: yeah i really liked the flare at first, i feel it's what makes this picture. but after a while i felt it was distracting. but ah well~ it was the lens flare so it's not like i have a layer to remove it from lol. =\

Oblio: <3 Thank you dear~

I tend to cringe when i see lens flare, especially photoshop added lens flare ( i know this wasnt added). But I like it in that photo mostly, i can be a bit distracting, maybe if the flare had been a bit less intense?

Also, your portraits are gorgeous, but i gotta say, ever since I saw The Ring, long haired Asian women freak me out.. not like, out on the street or anything.. i dont jump whenever i see one.. but with the hair over the eyes.. and especially if their expression is super serious/blank.. do I ever get the shivers! So I look at your work and think "these are beautiful portraits, and Im a pansy for now feeling freaked out"

I dont know how this will make you feel. I just felt like sharing =P

Thank you~!!

Valadilene: I never watched the ring actually, ahaha. But thank you for your views. :P

I redid the Alice one. Some suggested going for a little more contrast, i personally think it suits better now, probably. =X

... #4 and #5 are so beautiful. The others are great, too, but these are standing out for me. I keep coming back here looking at them. There's so much expression and atmosphere in there, some kind of childlike innocence and on the other hand the cold light, the white face and lips that make her look like a doll.

The update of Alice has improved the photograph a lot, I think

I'm looking forwards to seeing more.

well.. on the edit - i think you went too far with the contrast.

I think best would be a mix between the two - the hair was working better in the first version (in the 2nd it reads too well and part of the magic feel is lost - looks more like a wig)

I love the contrast on the eyelids yet a bit of that reddish in the pupils will be a nice come back.

I'm not sure on the lips - they work great in both versions.
The chin is working better in the "more contrast" one.
I guess i made a mess.. but.. well.. i felt like speaking up
thx for sharing.

I love your stuff, it's so inspirational~ I particularly love "something beautiful," her face is cute. And the hair in Alice is really neat.

thanks all~

Oblio: Somehow the 2nd one is totally not overblown anywhere for me on my screen, looks fine in print too. Just not that good in more contrasty monitors. Lol I dont know, I'm leaving it as it is right now. =3

I'm so into light light light and dark dark dark things. Fresh from today:

#7. #8.

I'm not even sure if the last one should be here in portraits, then like I was saying since there's no fashion section yet... I guess I can put some beauty/fashion portraits here? =\

I think #7 could use something more contrasty in the background.

#8 is nice. Kinda reminds me of some stuff I've seen in z!nk.

Generally, I think your stuff would fit in either "Portraits," "Human Figure" or "Commercial". Editorial is more for street photography and I think adding a fashion thread would be kinda pointless since not a lot of people actually do fashion and fashion could also be absorbed by the "Commercial Photography" section.

I quite like #7 as it is. But I'll go do some photoshopping later on.

Fashion commercial and fashion editorial are quite different, and I wouldn't count something commercial unless it was indeed commercial... It seems rofile shots don't qualify as portraits (my shots got rejected at a competition last year for being profiles haha).

But anyway I guess there's no point in trying to clarify why it just feels awkward to me, I mean if that's the case as you say, just one section for people and portraits can possibly just cover everything if you're not looking for specific categories, right? Maybe I don't make sense at all so if that's the case just ignore that jumble of words hahaha.

All these haven't been photoshopped yet, but I quite like them as they are, just gotta touch up a little on the skins, redid the tones for #8:

#9-#12.

I think I like the first tones for #8 better, but Im not sure those same tones would continue as well through the rest of the series.

Great photos though, I think its a cool concept. The only complain I have is that I think i can really see her pores in the last one. Or is that just me? I know shes freckled, but the texture to the skin (other than the freckles) seems a bit rough.

Fashion photography is something Im interested in, but haven't had the chance to partake in quite yet.

I just said that they're not photoshopped yet... only a quick go over, so most pores and bad skin's all still there. I guess to remove the confusion I'll remove them first.

#7 is absolutely stunning (not that your other shots arent aswell . i love the little sliver of light accentuing her cheekbone and the very soft sunlight. A warm, moody and gorgeous shot.

Oh and i'd like to holler that we need a fashion forum aswell

The low contrast look works better in #12 than in #9 & #11, imo.

In most cases, I would be totally against the shadow in #12, but it works here. Although, I'm not too sure about the cut off parts along the sides.

The last one is great. Love that shadow, really adds separation. The cut off elbow doesn't bother me too much. That little bit at the bottom though (next to the chair arm, that little but of gray floor?) is probably unnecessary, but that's if you want to be nitpicky.
