nice scene but its very flat

if you are using an SLR, try bracketing exposures and merging them on the computer

there is very little contrast in the sky and the foreground is underexposed

the horizon is also wonky ;]

if its a raw image its possible to alter all those points, especially as none of the highlights appear to be blown out

Thank you for your helpful comment! I unfortunately only used a point and shoot camera. I got a slr recently, I'll have to get into it more. Also with post processing.

another thing to try would be us using a longer exposure to blur/smooth the water, though you will need a tripod or something to lean the camera on
