Help with colors(and color profiles?)
I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong, if there is a setting somewhere I need to check or what... but no matter what file format I use... the photos I upload to photobucket never keep the color I have put into them. I use a mac, not sure if that makes a difference.
Its driving me crazy and really effects my photos... If anyone could tell me why this is happening, that would be really cool. The image on the left is the one before uploading, the one to the right is of course the one in Photobook. ![]() http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p...=Picture31.png ![]() http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p...Picture1-1.png

Most likely your photos are saved using the wrong color profile. Looks for your "Color Settings" option in Photoshop and change the working space setting for RGB to "sRGB."
Hope this helps.

Hmm, I have CS3 and our settings match in that. I'm not sure about this, but it may be the "ProPhoto RGB" settings in Lightroom. Hopefully, someone who uses Lightroom could correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you also use a mac? I'm getting the feeling thats part of it... Safari sees the pictures the way they really are, firefox.. not so much =/

Check that link out... basically you can edit in ProPhoto RGB, but for most monitors (except Safari 3) you need to save as sRGB for web viewing. Edit: Here's another link: http://www.aguntherphotography.com/t...ographers.html

Read them both, fairly informative..
Still not getting the results I see in photoshop with sRGB, even though its my working profile and the one I save in... but its better than it was before i guess =/ Obviously still kills what I try and accomplish... /seriously frustrated lol Before sRGB: ![]() http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p...=Picture31.png After sRGB: ![]() http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p...=Picture15.png EDIT:UPDATE After two hours of trouble shooting/tinkering with a web graphics savy friend of mine.... (me sending him the origional, the edited and messing with all sorts of settings and the like) we still could not figure out why things were so washed out. In my screenshots the images kept their color but once the image left through photoshop or lightroom the colors were severely washed out so the only solution we were able to come up with is to (Apple) + Shift + 4 to select the area of the screen where the image is and take a screenshot of the image once its finished. However arrose a new problem... having to rename each and every one =/ So it would still be great to figure out some way of being able to figure out whats going on in photoshop and lightroom to turn out such shotty colors. If anyone has any more ideas? Maybe I should ask about this out in the general forums outside of Photomob, see if I can get a few more responses I supose. So far I've tried... Screenshots sRGB Saving the image through "Save for Web..." and making sure ICC is checked Saving the image as: png, gif, jpg, bmp, jpg w/o profile Sending the image to iPhoto sRGB working and embeded Sending the same image to a friend who also turns out the same washed out images Uploading to FTP Uploading to Photobucket(I really dislike Flikr) I had a suggestion from someone to enable some color thing within Firefox but that solves the problem for me.... what about the veiwers of the images? Then I have to put up a disclaimer and guide on how to veiw the images the way they really are ment to be which most people I'm sure, will see as nothing more than a hassle. V_< *insert anxious tick here*
