I kept waiting for a bone to come flying at me...

Love the lighting in that one. Could be a bit more off centered and/or have a different angle.

I dunno, I think the centering makes it look a bit more dramatic. But I might change my mind if I saw it off center.. that happens alot. I like that there is a small amount of fill light on the stone, so its not completely silhouetted.

Thanks all...Yeah, I wanted more separation than the "softbox in the sky" was willing to afford, so this was fill lit with two SB-80's via Pocket Wizards.

Purplerose...I did compose this on thirds (both sides of the frame), but I didn't like them as much. Just didn't seem as stark and dramatic - additionally, the hard angle of the obelisk to the frame border doesn't lend itself to leading the eye elsewhere in the frame, and that sky is just SO PURTY that it begs to be looked at.

yap it at the center O-right!
I mast say you did something cool there!
there that piece on the center but there is also that nice soft red light coming for the down-right side of the horizon line, to me I don`t feel it centered any more but it centered!
