Rose's Earth

Hmm, finally got around to taking a landscape photo. Well... a psuedo-landscape photo. Just one for now, more to come soon.

nice...can you bracket on your D40x? Something like this on a windless day would be great for some HDRish shots. Not that it detracts from it much, but the ivy in the foreground is a touch out of focus, but you know how to fix that. (anyone for a viewfinder magnifier?)

Not quite a landscape, but I think it's close enough...

mmmmm Red reminds me of Canada, which is fitting as its nearly Canada Day. I like the composition and colours, clarity in the leaf, and dark shadows towards the bottom. Not exactly a landscape but who cares. Its a landscape for ants...

I like that, "landscape for ants" But yeah, didn't feel comfortable putting it in still-life.

I thought of Canada as well when I was editing this. the red was a bit brighter, but i toned it down a little.

Thanks. It's not really house, it's a Spring House. Spring houses are like refrigerators. However, they use natural springs or diverted creeks instead of electricity to keep perishable items (dairy products, fruit and meat) cool.

I really like the first one and the aspect at the top... a little bit abstract
Well done

Otherwise, the last one seems to be too much grey in my opinion. It's lacking of contrasts

Thanks. Totally agree on the last one. This is the second version and I'm still not satisfied with it, tone wise. May end up scanning the print instead of the negative.

After looking at alot of your work, I almost like your landscapes better than the still/macro! the depth and mood of some of these are unreal!

I see you play a huge part in keeping this place alive, keep it going!

I do love "Float On" shot!
The tones are wonderful and I like the way the angle makes the shot abstract.
