Monitors

So, anyone know what a good monitor is for using photoshop? I know some monitors dont hold a calibration worth a damn, and some get funky colors, ect. Anyone know of any excellent brands/models? my CRT is so old is wont hold a calibration and my laptop is..well.. a laptop. Right now Im having to use my boyfriends very, very sexy 30in apple wide screen monitor. its great.. but not always readily available...

I don't know much on the equipment/technical sides, but I always go by this: http://www.photofriday.com/calibrate.php

It's really amazing how differently photos look once a monitor is properly calibrated.
