samsite's scrap thred!
thought it was abut time i made one of these. I been lurkking about for quight some time but havent actualy done much in the way off commenting. for a long time CA member with just the one board the amount of options and topics if im frank has put me off. with the old board it was resonalby easy for me to keep a eye on all the new users and posts.
with the turn over of late i have just given up. its been a daungting task. that and with my opp and new house and self employment. well i just had NO time So here we are. you looking at me and me looking at you. To be fair this last 6 months has left me in some what of a dark mood. if any one can rember me here you probably all know just how much i like my landscapes. This realy of late has not been my subject of choise. My nikon d50 has been at home and im mostly using a olimpus trup 35mm point and shoot with ilford 400 B&W film. i also do my own development. im trying to go for a darker more personal sie of life now. and film gives me what i want these are not new. some of them have been re-worked. some have been in my to do list. There not polished. or finished or proabbly up to what i consider my normal quality. but i dont think there you average snap shots? ill let you deside cosy ![]() pain ![]() steel sky ![]() passing us bye ![]()

I like nr 4 the most, you captured exactely the right moment.
The movement blur adds to the atmosphere. You definitely got a personal view in that photo. Job well done. Nr 1 isn't completely sharp I believe, and it irritates me. I think the people in black in the background attract too much attention from your real subject. in nr 2 I don't like the angle of the photo. Last edited by Ment; 03-13-2008 at 10:54 AM. |

I really like the first one - the portrait could be less blurry - but the expression and the composition are really beautiful. No, not an average snapshot at all. I think background and foreground are working very well together.
The second - it took me some time to figure out what it is (the title helped)... I like it. I think it could maybe use a bit more contrast? the third is solid in it's composition and technically very good. But it also i a bit sterile... doesn't "speak" as the others do. And the fourth - great feeling of motion. I'd love to see more! |
