Help a Noobian

Heyyyyaaa guysss,

Just getting into photography, got a canon 450d and i have found myself taking photos of musical gigs, usually the stages are strongly lit from the back so i am finding it hard to get the right exposure without a flash or a long exposure time which is causing blur.

i think i need a lens with a massive aperture? i would like a decent zoom as well any recommendations?

hop im making sense. x

Exposure is tough with that kind of lighting. you need the megapixels to take the higher ISO needed. The lens i would think would be anything F2.8 and under. You need some zoom but if you usually are able to get close then you want it to start under 35mm and go up to prob 55mm max. Think of a stock lens (35-55) and just lower it to 24mm or something. Its expensive, i wont kid you about that but it has to be F2.8 or less.

Im starting a bunch of motorcycle stunt shows and my next lens is going to be 14-24 f2.8
