Nice shots man, the flash is a little harsh in the katydid shot, try diffusing the flash for macro shots. This can help lessen harshness of the flash and add light for when you stuck using f/8 or f/16.

Just put a piece of paper towel or paper between the flash and the subject. I get real technical like me and make a makeshift diffusing tube for your flash system (should you have one, the on-camera served me well for a long time).

I like the lettuce/cabbage one. I think the highlights could be pushed a bit more though.

the awesomeness of the first three shots is quite a mighty "overture" for this thread... may the shots that follow be as houserockingly good.

Asadex,

you never can tell unless you use a hardware colour calibration device (like spyder, e.g.)

Re

Just a shot, perhaps your home monitor is set to a generally higher brightness level. On my monitor I can adjust RGB to make a cast color, decreasing them all simultaneously greys out the image. I guess you could check in photoshop too (a pure white should be 255 in all RGB), if that still appears grey it's probably something off with the monitor settings. Just some speculation Nice pictures.

I really like "Have a Cup of Light".
The bright colors are awesome, not to mention the set up.

very interesting work, I like it alot! lots of variety. As in some of the earlier posts I would do some work in lightroom or photoshop on the BW highlights and shadows, or basic contrast adjustments to get a more true black and make the picture really pop. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more of it!
