11Mp Canon EOS-1Ds. Need emergency advice. Should I get it?

I have an opportunity to get a Canon EOS-1Ds, the 2002 11.1mp version. The guy is willing to trade even up with me for my Dell XPS M1530 laptop that I just got and paid $1500 for. He's willing to trade the body, the battery, charger, and cables. No lenses, no manual, except in PDF form. The rubber on the body looks a bit faded, but other than that, I don't see any cosmetic issues. Operation wise, he said it works perfectly, but I have yet to hear how many shots have been run through it. He stated that he is the second owner, and the only reason he's getting rid of it is that he doesn't have the time for it. He originally stated that he bought it to experiment with Manual Focus lenses.
He's telling me that my Sigma lenses that I have for my Rebel 350D XT will work with this camera. He wants me to call him at 4:30pm tonight if I'm interested in an even trade. He wants to meet in person to do the trade. It's a good hour and a half drive. My question is this...Is it worth the trade? I rarely use the laptop, but it is brand new and has all of the top of the line bells and whistles in it. The camera is 7 years old, and has been through 2 owners. But everything I've read about it is that it's awesome, and to get it or if you have the cash, get the newer Mark III or the 5d MKII. Well, I'm poor, so those are not options for me. Unless someone has either and they'd like to trade for my laptop and some other stuff. But anyways, I need some emergency opinions. I'm not sure what to do.

Thank you.
