Get out there and explore with your camera!

For beginnings, you want to explore different locations and objects and get a feel for what your camera can do. This way you can find out what type of subjects interest you the most and how you would like to represent them. Would also suggest reading up on the basics: composition, exposure, lighting.

Browsing the photographs of photographers you admire also helps.

Hope this helps! I'm pretty sure other people will add as well.

Have fun! Hope to see you posting soon.

hello and welcome

echoing what rose said, i assume you have some kind of camera at the very least? even if its a camera phone

you can get out there and play with compositions even without any manual controls

if you do have a more basic SLR then you are only really limited by what you put into it
