FH LIFE – Scenes from my daily routine at University

I'm trying to keep track with this kind of photography, but I'm having a hard time photographing people. Hope you like them, critique welcome as always.

these all seem a bit noisy

I assume the last one was behind glass? there seems to be a strip light reflected in it

The first one is amazing, really love it.

The second one is good to, i like the fact that there is some kind of tension in the picture. And how the girl is facing the teacher like if she is listening to him.

The third one doesnt really do anything for me though. Its good but at the time its kind of MEH...

Love the other ones though. Post more.

Hey thanks, both of you.

Yes they are noisy, they were all shot in really low light situations so I had to go up to 800.

The third one is boring, you're right. I was fascinated by the amount of detail captured sharply, but I see it doesn't show at this size.

I really like the composition in the second one. Keep posting.

Hey, thanks

This one was not daily routine. Instead it's one of five portraits that I'm submitting as my semester work
in combination with 5 still life shots of each of those person's favorite "item" or "thing".
His favorite is his skateboard

khoma: Yeah well. Maybe you can tell me which of the photos you find boring (or all?) and tell me why? That'd be nice

well, i'd say all of them. none of them are particularly good when it comes to either composition, tones, or telling a story in general. perhaps the subject is just not that interesting?

I think its just a matter of tastes and that you can't please everyone. The 2nd image of your first post is a classic example of the type of image that's posted on my University's main page. We have mini slide-shows that are updated every week or so with photos showing campus life. Linkage: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/

There is a market for this type of photography, just worry about aiming for the best possible quality.

khoma: Hm, I see that it might not be as interesting, that's a matter of tastes I think. But bad composition? Hmm.

Jerrica: Well, I'm not going to be a photographer primarily. I'm studying communication design and am a graphic designer already. But if I can use my photos for my design projects, that'd be a good thing. And that's exactly the kind of photography you stated above. So I'll try to improve as much as I can in order to use my photography, even if just as a secondary craft.

Cool uni
