Canon 450D vs Sony A350

What would you choose?

Im getting a DSLR this week (Upgrading from my current one which is just a Lumix TZ3 [Not a DSLR]) :D but im strapped between these 2, ive read lots of reviews and they seem to be about equal. Ill be doing mostly B/W work and macro. I narrow'd down to these cos of the live view [I wear glasses - so dont fancy using viewfinder].

Love the tilting lcd on sony which would come in handy, but am drawn to canon aswell as a friend has one (40D)

Anyone got any ideas?

This was my question a while ago, in the end i went for the sony a350 as the only advantage it had over the canon was the moveable screen and its 14 mp but personally i think the canon is better, from what i was read the steady shot thing is better.

If you choose a the sony :) you can come and help me with the settings lol am still learning :)

getting a slr with the liveview just cause you wear glasses isn't the most sensible thing imo

i would go and take a look at how the live view features work on those bodies

I know on my 40d it has its applications, but those are more for composed macro work on a tripod

its much hard to hold the camera steady if you are using liveview over the viewfinder

don't forget cameras for years only ever had viewfinders, i'm sure one or two users have had glasses ;]

liveview is also slower to use than normal shooting

A has been says liveview is a preference - i recently went through the same question and bought the sony a300 - live view is instant and very handy for awkward angles as it tilts on the sony - steady shot is built in the body so makes lenses cheaper ---- it's a tough choice but i love my sony and all the reviews i have read show the sony as the canon equal in most respects...
