I want to get into concert photography this year but before I try haha, I have a question concerning lighting.
How can I shoot in dark places and get enough light in to catch my subjects?

You can't.
Don't use a flash, it won't reach your subject and even if it does it will totally ruin the mood.
Use available light and this will mean you will need to wait until your subject is lit by the strong theatre lights. However, this will produce dramatic images which can be stunning.

I thought I'd share with you a couple of concert images I have taken

I used a zoom lens and the available light with my 350d

This was taken with my Ixus 50 quite a long way back from the stage
I fiddled with the white balance settings and just snapped away.
My equipment is all amateur so I think it is probably easier than you think to get good photos out of whatever camera you have.
Just take your camera along to the next concert you go to and just experiment and snap away and see what you come back with.
