For Halloween this year I'm offering portraits of people during trick or treating. I'll be setting up a mini studio in my garage, I want to use a gray fabric as the background (i was thinking muslin, but i dunno if there's anything better i could use? or a different color anyone suggests?). and I was thinking about getting 2 Umbrella lights for the lighting system.
They would have to be continous lighting as i don't have flashes to put in them to do that so does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of umbrellas to get and maybe a set of 2 for under $100 ($150 max).

any other tips or anything would be greatly appreciated, i want to buy these in the next few weeks o i have time to practice with them..

:)

wescott umbrellas are good

as for being under $100 I think they are like $10 each ;o

as for what type, it really depends what your aiming for in the type of light

shoot through ones will probably be good as you won't get the shadow of the light source body showing through

thanks for the reply :)

what's the difference in the type anyways? like the white, shoot through, silver, black....what exactly do each do to the photo?

i want them to be even lighting, nice and bright, like a normal portrait but also i want them to be able to be used for other things so i'm not just buying them for one use. hope that makes sense lol
