but woah the pictures are massive I can't see them properly on my 24" screen, god knows what people with lower res are going to make of them ;]

try resizing them down a bit

from what i can make out though, they seem to bit out of focus and very noisy

Yepp, resize them. Anything larger than about 900 pixels is way too big.

Merged your two posts for you. The photo of the flowers is the best one. Overall, just keep working on your compositions and sharpness. Also, go exploring around the forums to gain a sense of how other photographers here handle the subjects they photograph. Cheers! :)
