Come on then, whats everyone shooting with?
I treated myself to some new gear last September and really need to pull my finger out to use it more!
I have:
Canon 40D
EF 70-200 IS f4 (this lens is fantastic)
EF 100mm f2.8 macro
EF-S 17-55 IS f2.8
2x vivitar 285hv (flashes)
cable release and wireless triggers for the flashes
circular polarizer
carbon fibre tripod and ball head
2x lightstands and umbrellas
I also have an old (older than me) Olympus OM1n SLR with 50mm f1.8 zuiko that I use when I want to take black and white film shots (not very often now I don't have access to a darkroom)
Looking to add some ND and ND Grad filters as my next purchase, though will have to wait till I get back to the UK

Canon EOS 350D, old and worn but still working great. The original viewfinder eyepiece got broken. The small viewfinder is the biggest problem with this camera.
Tamron 17-50 2.8, sharp, fast, affordable, good lens.
Canon 50/1.8 II, sharp, crap build but really cheap.
2 (soon 3) Vivitar 285HV flashes (yea, strobist;)
Tripods, lightstands, wireless trigger, umbrella, batteries, filters etc.

For me... I jump from things to things nowadays, depending on where I shoot I just use what's in the studio.
Personally I use EOS 5D and 350D. Sometimes I use 1Ds Mk II, and lately a lot of H2D/Phase One.

Also I'll admit to being torn between some flavor of rebel and an olympus e-510 (I cant decide whether having a cam with better features (e-510 with onbody IS etc.) outweighs having a decent amount of reasonably priced glass on ze market (canon).)

Hm... I use:
-Nikon D70s (Canons are really good but I have more experience with Nikon)
-Nikon FE2 (analog with my favourite in-camera meter of all time)
-Old school Polaroid camera that I don't know the name of...
-AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm
-Nikkor 35-70mm (broke recently though)
-Nikkor 50m
-AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm
-Nikon Speedlight SB-800
-assortment of filters (regular ones + a bunch of ones I found in the basement that I haven't used yet)
-2 tungsten lights, though of the cheapest variety and no umbrellas
-cable releases, hand-held meter, tripods, monopods, crushed velvet I haven't used yet, film, and anything else I can't think of immediately.
I have a pretty old Nikon N4004. It's terrible at shooting in the dark :D
Cept I don't use it because I don't have any access to a dark room. Also have a Sony Cybershot DSC-f717, which is actually a handmedown. I feel quite out of place not being a professional with at least 3 cameras D:
Although, I do have access to a Canon 5D sometimes, and I forget what lenses he has...

Nikon D80
Nikkor 50mm f1.8 (almost exclusively)
Nikkor 18-135mm (almost never)
both lenses have UV filters and polarizing filters (necessary in Australia).
i also have a x0.25 filter style wide angle / fisheye for the 50mm which is a pretty rough effect unless you can really open up your aperture.
and then i have a handfull of macro filters and extension tubes.

I'm out of place here with all the professional equipment being thrown out onto the posts. I'm just starting out so all I got so far:
Canon Digital Elp (don't remember which one, not in use and probably shouldn't even be mentioned)
Canon Powershot A630 (got replaced with recently. I still keep it with me if I don't want to take the new camera out)
Canon Powershot S5 IS (my new camera which I enjoy immensely)
2 x tripods for now. Looking into different lens but ultimately probably a DSLR next. I'm slowly working my way up :)

There's your camera obscura :D
Noted :D
My weapon of mass capturing is my beloved Fuji S5600fd aka S6000fd (US).
I'm quite satisfied with this superzoom camera, an affortable alternative, less weight and size. I got really small hands and I don't like carrying heavy stuff all around town.
I am the new guy here and just shoot for my own personal fun!
I recently, (a few months ago now), got the following:
Canon Rebel XSi
18-55 IS f3.5 Kit lens
55-250 IS f3.5 Kit lens
One thing I have noticed of late, as I progress, is that I really need to spend some money on some better glass. Not that the kit lenses are bad, but I have noticed that they are not the best choice.
So I am looking at, in the near future, moving to something of much better quality and wider apertures. Any suggestions?
BgDM
That depends on what you want to do...
As a general rule, lenses with fixed focal lengh have better quality than most zoom lenses. There are very good zoom lenses, but these usually are also very expensive, and often very heavy.
Something I'd recommend in any case is a classic 50 mm lens. It's great for portraits and landscape. I can only talk for myself, but once I've tried a lens with fixed focal lengh for the first time, I hardly used my 28-70 mm zoom lense, which is also a kit lens and not very fast (3,5-4,5) anymore. The difference regarding quality and aperture possibilities is enormous.
With Canon, you have 3 opportunities to go for a 50 mm lens - the rather expensive f 1,2, the f 1,4 or the f 1,8.
Myself I'm using Nikon and have a 50 mm Nikkor 1,8 and I love it. For me, 1,8 was enough for my needs, the quality is very good, and it is cheap (as is the Canon 1,8).
Yeah, I have heard that from a few others about the 50mm and the 1.8 is indeed relatively a good price.
I mostly take pics of the family and stuff, so that may work. Though I do like to take shots of the kids at sports, so I need a decent zoom too. Canon also has an 18-200 IS now too. Which would basically cover off just about everything that I would need, though is only has F3.5-5.6.
Thanks Nike.

Nikon D80 Kit lens
Remote release (best $20 bucks ever)
Bridge CS3
Photoshop CS3
Nice to see what everybody is shooting with! I see a lot of analog folks.
I never made that step "back", and probably never will, but I see where
the love comes from.
Here's mine:
Nikon D300
50 mm 1.8 D Nikkor
18-70 mm 3.5-4.5 G ED DX Nikkor
105 mm 2.8 Micro-Nikkor (Manual Focus)
Lensbaby 2.0
GIOTTO'S MT 9180 Aluminum Tripod + MH 1001 ballhead
Adobe Lightroom 2
Adobe Photoshop CS3
First of all, let me second Nike. Everyone should have a 50 mm.
The 1.8 D I own is only 120 bucks, but it's the lens I use most often,
and the one that's always on my Nikon when I leave the house.
It's quick, bright, accurate and lightweight.
The 18-70 is great as well. It's one of the best "cheap" lenses
Nikon made, and probably the best kit lens out there. Unfortunately,
I think it caught some dust over the years, I had some faint, big blobs
in my landscapes lately.
I don't use the Micro much, but it's an exellent lens. Strictly metal design.
Unfortunately, the manual focus is rather stiff.
I shoot at night or in dim light situations, so most of the time I use
a tripod. Most people underestimate the use of a good tripod.
As for the D300, it's the best camera I can imagine and I hope it will
survive a lot of years. I had the D70 before it, but the step up to the
D300 is a blast. It's heavier and slightly bigger, which I like (I have
rather big hands, long fingers). The body is rock solid, the technical
aspects are top-notch. The AF is fast, it has a ton of features that you
can explore, but no gimmicks. A "camera-camera", so to speak.
I love my Nikon :)
As for processing, I've settled with Lightroom. It has the treatment
I want when I process my images. Also, I like staying with one suite,
and as I use CS3 regularly, Lightroom is the one.
