Who solved the technical challenge "Panning" (a technique to display motion by moving/tilting the camera to blur the background and keep the main object sharp) best?

Nice entries everyone. :)

namic: Really cool hi-speed capture. :) I think the highlights could be a bit brighter though. You got my vote! :)

Iliada: This is nice as well. Kinda wish more of the cyclist was in the shot though.

Asadex: Nice tones in this! Something about the photo feels weird to me, just can't put my finger on it though.

Kurdt: Unique panning photo! :) Close second! :)

carolupus: Doesn't look like much of a panning photo to me, but is a nice capture.

why would it not be a panning photo? I followed the motion of the guitarist's hand sliding down the neck while playing so that the hand is sharp and the background is blurred.. after about an hour of trying that finally worked. maybe the theme is not what's generally associated with panning in photography, but I wanted to do something different than vehicles ;)

why would it not be a panning photo?

I've produced the same effect without panning and I've seen others do the same as well. ;)

I loved Kurdt's image and it was my second pick but I voted for carolupus because it was original and nicely executed.
