How do people feel about having foundation for film and a foundation for digital forums?

Having done both I would say that most stuff applies to both and they could be merged into a foundation/beginner section.

Or could both be done away with and just use the mentor section?

"Helping each other learn and get better at the art of photography."

I was going to post some threads on the basics, maybe a foundation/beginner subforum under mentor might be best?

Too many places where the same info could be placed is both confusing for me to know where to post and on the flip side I guess hard for others to find too ;]

What does everyone else think?

Good point. If not this solution, then perhaps the "Foundation for Film" and "In the Darkroom" sections could be combined?

I agree.
To quote myself from the first thread in the Lounge:
Some thoughts on the education/learning part of the forum...
I think the "Foundations in Film Photography" and "Foundations in Digital Photography" overlap too much. Film and digital are not that different. IMO the Film and Digital Foundations should be replaced by one general photography foundations category. Right now I don't know where to put threads that are not specific to the medium. The Darkroom section could be renamed Film photography and be about both darkroom tecniques and other film specific threads.
