Third one in the first post has a really nice composition.

I think they all could use better contrast though.

Your b/w's all lack a bit of contrast.
In nr. 1 I should crop the house of in the left down side of the photo. It's a nice overview though.
In nr 2. your object doesn't interest me much, it's lacks action.

Really nice tones in the one with the bench.

I like the composition in the cat one, but it feels like the white balance was probably off. Could look nicer as B/W though.

i really like your compositions, the one thing that bugs me is that you pictures aren't straight (esp. the very first pic and this recent rooftop pic) and watch out for the noise in your macros. but some great shots here

Thanks for checking out my stuff. Thought I'd come over and see your work:)

Lovely work! I really like the flower macros. Specifically post #6, first photo. The colors of the petals are very vibrant against the partially blownout background. The leaves almost looks plastic. Very nice work so far, I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I quite like the first three in your last post.
I don't really get the last one though...

I like the textures in your in the first 3 photo's of your last batch, they are quite noisy, but I think it adds to the total picture.
It looks like the grass is coming through the flowers, it looks very weird.

nice work with the compositions and tones of the first 3. If you work on composition more on the last one, it may make a more successful photo.

Some really great photos here - my favourite is the one with the roffs in your post nr. 6. I also like the banana photos in your last update a lot - exspecially the first two. :) Very nice contrast and compositions.
The last ones wth the face are interesting as an experiment, but they look like there was too much sharpening used - at the eyes and eyebrows I think that looks a bit disturbing.

Keep posting :)

The first 2 banana photos are pure genius! :)

Love the graphic look of the collaged sides of the faces.

You're coming along very nicely. Keep it up! :)

that last photo is just amazing - it almost looks like a painting. very interesting composition, along with the colours it creates a really cool atmosphere.

Hey,
I honestly did not read all the previous posts (but did look at the photos) but comments from the last post:
1- I like this one alot.
2- I really like sky in this picture but I feel distracted by the words that are cut off on the building. I also dislike how dark the top of the streetlamp is. But those are just my impressions.
3- I like this photo of the street alot, especially the bird on top of the statue, unfortunately, I feel like the bird is too washed out around the edges and looks fake.
4- My favorite of these pictures, but I also just really like patterns that are not perfect in photos.
5-7- I am not a huge fan of these pictures and I am not fully sure why. I guess that I feel like there is supposed to be a meaning behind that that I feel like I am missing? Again not really sure.
8- Impressive light drawing to who ever did it. The fact that one wing really glows and the other is just the lines bothers me a little. As I personally prefer the glowy side, I would consider adding glow onto the right wing (our right, his left).

Really nice tones in this update. #7 is cool and creepy. I think selective desaturation works well for it.

you have a cross processed look to some of your photo's like 1,2,3 i would like to know how you did those.

Thanks Purple rose. :) It was difficult to work with the colours in those pics. Because it was taken on a 30 second shutter, the colour of the sky was a horrible gravy yellow and the torch I was usuing was blue and my hair was red. I personally didn't feel they looked that great togther. Though the greenhouse in the background i think is a bit distracting.

And Surrealistmigoria :), How I did these was I set the camera to keep it's shutter open for 30 seconds, and in the thurty second i used a flashlight to take multiple pics of me in the one pic. I cant wait to do more. I would like to experiment more with writing in light.

Thanks all!

Looking at this thread all in one go it's quite amazing the development over 5 months. In no way were your photos in March terrible, the first photo in the thread is pretty damn good, but by the last few posts it really takes off and makes me feel somewhat ashamed that I haven't done more with my photography... darn you for improving so!

Also, further thing that's frustrating me, just where do you live? I can't find any landmarks that I can recognise with ease in the photos and it's really, really annoying me. Please, put me out of my misery (in the answer my question way, not the shoot me way).

Really like the light-painting one. :) The thing (window) in the background is a little distracting though.

I really love the tone and the shapes in the first church (or whatever it is) pics. Love em.

I like the patterns and tones in 1 & 2 as well. Some nice cropping would give you very good abstract photos.

Finally a reply!! :D

Thanks :) and I actually painted the eyes on my hands and held them up :)

x

are you ambidextrous then or just patient, i would have thought there would have been some problem with painting the other hand and not ruining the paint job on the first one too

nice use of what appears to be an OHP (overhead projector) for some off camera lighting

are all the architecture shots from glasgow? i'd always assumed everything that far north was a dump, I didn't realise scotland was civilised now ;]

Hah! just cause it looks nice doesnt mean it's civilized :P

The deal with the projector was to actually USE the slides, but we had more fun without it i think.

Some great things here. Nice work.

It seems that you take an idea and adjust until you reach a great result.
