2-5 and 7-10 are really great. :)

Bonus points for the cow. :)

I think 1 and 6 could use another element in them to make them stand out more.

Looks like you have a bit of .jpg compression though. May want to try saving at a higher quality.

thanks!

what do you mean by .jpg compression? Should I save them as RAW or do you mean the web compression from photoshop?

Do you use Photoshop or some other program to resize your photos? When you do that converting to a .jpg will sometimes produce weird colored blocks in your image. Look closely at the sky in #10 to see what I mean.

oh ok, I think I know what you mean now... I use photoshop for resizing, the 'save for web & devices' function, and usually I use this setting: jpeg, medium, quality around 40-50, optimized, to get a file between 20 and 100 kb. what should I change to avoid these colored blocks? I don't want the files to get too big :S

I normally save my photos by clicking save and selecting .jpg.

I then change the Quality to "12" or "Maximum"

My Format Options are Progressive and the scans are set to 5. The file sizes vary depending on your dimensions, but the quality is worth it. :)

I attached a screenshot of what I'm referring to.

Hope it helps. :)

so is it often foggy there? I've always wanted to go to NZ, my dream is to live there once I have enough money. might still take a while though...

i was only there for two weeks and it was beautiful and clear nearly every day (you can see some shots in my landscapes thread) but the day i went to see the glaciers the clouds closed in and i couldn't get any shots at all, but i'm heading back over there in July so i can try again. i would love to live there (when my brother saw my shots when i got back he quit his job and was living there 2 months later)

I've been on two photo-tours through my city the last two days and discovered some really nice places. I'm not sure all of the photos show landscapes though...

Nice colors in this update. :) I really like #18 & 23.

I pulled 18 into Photoshop and it looks pretty cool as a B/W with a bit of tweaking. ;)

Nice work in 38 & 39. Although for #38, i wonder if you could get the bottom of the barrels in as well? Unless there is something really distracting down there.

carolupus
04-16-2008, 01:04 PM
yeah, the bottom of the barrels was in originally but there were some annoying steel things lying around, so I cropped it. i think it looks better like this, but both is not ideal.
