Nice flowers. :) 2 & 3 have nice compositions. Would try playing around with contrast a bit more though.

more contrast makes the leaves too monochromic somehow... maybe next time a smaller aperture - i'll have to try.
thanks for your advice!
I'm officially in love with this crystal now...

blur 01 & 03 are very effective in their compositions.
Crystal/CD reflections: The first one in that post works, but personally I think the reflective properties of the CDs and crystal make it a bit busy. maybe some more play with composition/setup?

i really like the DOF in "metal 1" but i don't think it works very well in "metal 3"
as for the CD shots, i think they are very effective but to "mirror" purplerose, the colours seem to blend into each other too much, maybe if you had a light of a different colour hit the crystal and diffract onto the CDs you could get some cool effects.

thanks for the advice!
I've tried to use a CD to reflect light onto the crystal, which didn't work out well because then I get small very bright spots somewhere on the crystal in weird colours. Then I wanted to use coloured laserpointers, but I couldn't find any yet.
Meanwhile I tried using a mirror and a kind of white shield so that the crystal doesn't reflect so much stuff. Tell me what you think!

Really nice outcomes, the second one is a stand out for me. I think the DOF is a bit too shallow though. Maybe have the whole crystal in focus or move the area of focus from the bottom to the side or top?

i like the soft outcome with such understated colours (they almot look B&W at first). i like the laser pointer idea, should be interesting to see.

I missed a lot of updating... :o :)
Really love "sphere 03," it is beyond awesome! the colors, reflection and perspective in the reflection work nicely together.
Given the nature of the first set of flowers, I think they would stand out more with some different lighting, or some play with contrast and/or toning in PS.
Those orchids are even further beyond awesome than "sphere 03" :) 5-8 are really nice (so is #3).
Really awesome updates!! :)

thanks for all the positive comments! I've decided to do some more of flower photography to get better. So I went around in my grandparents' garden and took photos of a lot of their plants - it took me about 2 hours for only a third of their garden, they really have a lot of flowers!

Very nice work. stand outs for the garden are 1, 9, 13, 15 & 16.
I love the DOF in #10, #11 & #12. Could possibly use some play with cropping or a square crop.
#14 is nice as well, would play around with cropping on it though.
Macro #2 is really nice. I think it works better than Macro #4 (similar composition) because of the intense color factor.
