I'm having a problem with focus. When I use manual focus, in my viewfinder, it looks sharp as a tack to me.. but then when I get it on my computer, my focus point is off.. can anyone give me some pointers? Do I need to get my eyes checked? I do wear contacts, but this is a more recent problem...

hey there! beautiful still life, love the colors here.
hmm, about the manual focus: i think it happens to me every now and then, especially when the light conditions are a little dark, it's hard to get the focus right. butyou get used to it, i guess.
one other thing that comes to mind is the dioptrin-correction some cameras have. they're easy to get altered when you carry your camera around and one usually never checks them. so maybe that could be a solution... anyway, lovely pic!

Another thing you could try is shooting tethered, if you have EOS utility installed and a Cat-6 cable you can use live view on your computer screen :D I need to try this out too, by the way.

Been super busy the last two days, ill post three pics tonight to make up for it..
Stine- yeah, i thought it wasn't the dioptics, but then i was messing with them today and it seems like you may be right. We'll see once I put the photos I took after messin with it on my computer.
Klips- thats not a bad idea.. I should try that..
rose- thanks!=)

you dont even need a computer. if you have an AV out on your camera, you can hook it up to one of those portable dvd players and use it as a big screen.
i know some people do it when they have to travel and take portraits for business and such

Not as good as the last photo, but here's three. The last one was for a photo class assignment.. only photo shop was dodging and cropping.

The last one makes for a pretty good abstract. Maybe it could be a bit sharper?
The first one is great, really nice colors and DOF.
The second and third one could use some more sharpness, and the third is a little too dark, I almost can't see the subject.
The last one is a nice abstact shot.
