Pinholes and digital cameras

So I've been playing around with pinhole body caps on DSLRs recently (a 5D to be exact), however digital pinhole photos are simply nowhere near as sharp as film pinhole photos. Any of you guys have any experience with this? Perhaps shed some light on the matter?

Essentially just make the smallest hole (i.e. with a pin) and it'll get sharper pictures.

I'm assuming it's the same way, either way with both film or a digital sensor.

I've actually found that at a certain point, smaller pinholes start blurring the image as a large pinhole would. I mean 150 microns or smaller, so that might not affect anyone making their own with a needle or whatever..

hey there! I found that a very small hole (made with a needle in a juice carton) created quite good pictures. getting enough light is crucial then, though. I have no experiences with analog pinholes, so I can't compare, but those digitals turned out pretty well and surprisingly sharp...
