Using a cheap Canon powershot A480. I would like to upgrade to better camera. Some thing along the lines of a Nikon D60 with some sort of Micro lens, also need a lens for taking portraits. I really don't know any thing about cameras so any help would be appreciated.
Would love to hear what every body thinks. Tips most appreciated.

welcome to the forums!!
Good start! But in the first two...the area around the focal point is rather distracting...more so in the second one...really overpowering the focal point in the center
The third one works best!
Keep posting!

I once stood on top of the world to only fall into unexistence. I will be there to stand again.

EvrEst, Thanks a ton man. I am glad you like them.
Good improvement with your macros and really nice colors!
I like tranquility, the one above it, and the last one from your last post best. I think the insect shot would have benefitted from a bit more closed aperture and it's a bit overexposed - but the colors are really nice.
In my opinion, the last from your last post might look even better, if you cropped the top third of the picture - it doesn't seem to add much to the picture, I think, and cropping that part would emphasize the beautiful, warm light more.
Good work, looking forwards to seeing more! :)

Nike. Thank you very much for the comments I appreciate them. I agree %100 about the insect shot, I really do not like it at all any more. I will watch out for the exposure a little more when taking pictures.
I also croped the picture. I think this what you meant. It was missing some thing, and this crop gave it more life.

I agree the crop works well. On the last one before the crop. I like the color cast with the central light coming through the plants but there is something missing... i dont know if its too blurred or if the comp needs something? I wish i had an answer. hopefully someone can shed some light on it. Keep em coming!
