no. softboxes (and other lightformers) are generally locked to a specific systems.
Some brands do offer connectors to different lightsources through a speedring system which lets you use the same softbox/octabox/etc for different lights just by changing the speedring used.
And some brands even offer connectors and speedrings for competitors lights (Profoto have hensel & elinchrome connectors availible for their softboxes).
The only thing universal is umbrella fittings. Mostly universal at least ;)

Alien Bees accept all Alien Bee, White Lightning, and other Paul C. Buff-branded modifiers, and all Balcar and Balcar-mount modifiers.
Most (but not all) of the better modifier manufacturers offer speedrings for them, often listed as "Balcar" or "White Lightning."
So, if you're shopping for a softbox for your Bee made by Chimera, for example, you'll need to get THEIR speedring for AB/WL/Balcar.
