View Full Version : Power Food
I've started a still life series. I'm planning to shoot food in the most energetic way I can achieve. These are the first images.

u might wanna thaw out the broccoli, u want to convey energetic but being frozen doesnt. with food u wanna have natural light, looks very unnatural with colored light. unless u can really make it work.
my 2 cents.
Hm, I received some similar comments on the broccoli piece. Gotta admit I'm a little biased, because I think I achieved what I wanted to convey (maybe my brief doesn't keep up with it?). I mean I didn't want to achieve natural "power", as in "healthy", more like nuclear power :P That's why I chose blue as ambient.
I got to agree with ukan, I can't see much power in your food shots, too.
I really like the idea you explain, but while the broccoli has some frozen, fridge feeling it's certainly not "raging" for me, even though, with some fantasy, the shape compares to a mushroom cloud.
I like the ja natürlich in blue. Looks interesting. Toxic, in a way.
And I like the light and glow in the first one.
Looking forwards to seeing how your series will develop! :)
Yeah I see. Mission failed I'd say. The broccoli piece doesn't fit with the rest (well, two right now).
Maybe what I didn't see was that it was "slow" in a way, not very active.
I think I'll stick to the backlit shots and see what's next on my veggie list :) Thanks for your comment.
