I've been told i can "see" a picture [If that makes sense?]
I just need a bit of help on the more technical side of things..

1. - Life In Perspective. - I coulda done this one better, might re-take it and improve it one day..
2. - Concrete Jungle - It just looked so misplaced..
3. - Feather? - I was wandering around my art rooms at school and found it..
4. - The Mask. - I don't like this one.. But thougt i'd uploadit for the lulz.
5. - Just A Gate.. - I thought the gate & tree looked.. kinda.. something. i liked it.
6. - Concrete Jungle II - Wolverhampton City Centre..

Here we go thenn;

Hi - nice ones - interesting atmospheres - just a few technical suggestions:

Contrast is important when you're going for black and white. Right now they're a bit grey in grey.

Sometimes there's no focus anywhere and it doesn't really look like it was done on purpose, like in #1 and #4. If it's too dark for a reasonable shutter speed I'd use a tripod or - if you don't have one - a stone/wall - whatever you find to put the camera on.

Some are a little bit overexposed, like the feather and the last one. I really like the last one - nice colors and composition.

Keep posting :)

thats good that the time and date isnt on all your shots..
try not to have it on the pic.

4 is out of focus.
maybe try the feather shots without the flash...
grab a tripod and try natural light.
theres potential...

Thanks guys.
So i need focus, something to lean camera on [Yeah, i cannot hold a camera still on my own to save my life. ]
And yeah, the time & dated ones were taken by my old camera phone, before i got the camera im using now.
Contrast in the b/w ones..

Anything else anyone wants to add?

I might have some more for you soon..

Few more for ya.
I've been in Devon all weekend, went to my cousins wedding, hoping to get some good shots.
But they're not very good.
Tried to get a few macro's of water droplets and stuff though
Lemme know what you think yeah?

7. - Water droplets on a garden chair, probably not that good, but meh.
8. - Water flowing through a pipe into a pond, i quite like this one, but it was hard to ty and get a decent angle, i was scared id drop my camera. >.>
9. - Could robably do with cropping, but i'll post that up later, Just some water droplets on the glass of an old fish tank i found in my uncles garden.
10. - My dog, Rocky, He was lying still, which is unusual for him, and i needed to test the light/settings on my camera so i took it, thought it came out ok so didn't delete it. :)
11. - A Rotten Apple and a sheet of broken glass, i was thinking of calling it "Make it Better" but meh, either way.

I love the bird's eye view of the dog. Very nicely done. The photo could have been clearer though. Perhaps the unsharp mask would bring it up a tiny bit. But I like the layout with the main subject in the top corner and negative space below. The fire is a really nice idea, but yes, need to be a bit more sharper. Cool, keep on shooting!

15 and 20 for me :)

15 just looks so right with the bridge.

20 as well, with the chain and metal hoop off centre. I actually think that hoop couldn't be in a better position.

SO THEN. It's been actual months since i updated this, forgive me father for i have sinned.
But i've been busy trying towork out which style i really wanna focus on. and i still have no idea :|
So, a few new little scraps for you.
I've done 2 shoots with a few of my friends, they didn't come out so great, but i'll post them up if you really want me to.
1st up; Macro of a big daisy i found. :)

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk101/VenomVindicta/PICT0012.jpg

And then Said daisy with a bit of a background of it, i quite like this one.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk101/VenomVindicta/PICT0011.jpg

"through the keyhole", i liked this idea, i wish there was something more interesting through the door though.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk101/VenomVindicta/PICT0016.jpg

A pictue of my ring that my boyfriend bought me, i liked how it turned out.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk101/VenomVindicta/PICT0018.jpg

I'm not sure why i took this one, i like it though.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk101/VenomVindicta/PICT0009.jpg

now sure how good this one turned out. most certainly not my best though.

I really like the atmosphere in the blurry second daisy photo. Nice mood. I think both of your daisy photos are overexposed though - I think it would help to see a little more detail in the white. And with the first one, I think it would help if a a part of the flower would be in focus.

Nice angle in the last one. :)

I like the abstract feel of the gravel image. I'm thinking a tighter crop (maybe square?) and perhaps a good conversion to B/W or Sepia would make it really nice.

C+C? :)

It's good to be back.

Hi,

the portraits are all over the place, method-wise.

Suggestion: take one subject, on pose, one distance.

Vary the light.

If you don't have a flash (argh! buy one!), you can put the person next to a window, then add some kind of reflector to the opposite side, add some kind of continuous light source, expose for a longer time(!), a.s.o.

Don't vary subject, crop, point of view or focus.
Concentrate on the light and vary it.

Do some ten or fifteen portraits of the same person, in the same perspective, the same focus with different lighting on each shot.

If you don't have a stand, ask someone to hold the camera and press the shutter. These two things, holding the camera and pressing the shutter are quite unimportant and can be done by somebody else, once you decided on the perspective and focus.

The important thing is the lighting. That you do yourself.

Looking forward to your portraits!
