kinda tricky to get a nice exposure with the bright streetlamps there

I love the tracks in the snow, try experimenting more with the composition, get down low etc

see if you can remove the bighter lights in the foreground from your framing

the first 3 the lights are really drawing the eye, though I like the texture that was captured in the dark tree behind the light in the first one

the last one the bright lights have skewed the metering and you have lost all the detail in the shadows on the right, assuming there aren't any lights on the left hand side, try taking it again from standing to the right more and pointing over to the left

Also by taking the lights out of the frame you can apply a touch of exposure compensation bring the snow up, without blowing out the highlights even more. This will bring up more detail in the shadow and make the snow whiter, your camera metre is trying expose for 18% grey and not white after all.

snow and night shots are both tricky subjects on their own, let alone together ;]

I did not guite get what you meant. I don't see the problems you described.. The photos look like i meant them to look. But thanks for telling the way you see the photos. I have to read your comment couple times more to figure out what you mean.. (english aint my motherlanguage..) :)

I used neat image to take some blur out and then sharpened the photos. It made a big change to the photo but i liked it.:)

I rambled on a bit in my post, I will try and make it clearer ;]

With the light coming off the street lamps, that area of the photographs is much brighter. This is drawing the eye to those areas and I don't think it creates a very interesting focal point for them. The first one more than the others.

ah, now i see.:) in photos 2 and 3 the main point was the street lamp and how the brightness hit to the trees next to it.

in the first one the light is little too bright even thou i took as much brightness off as possible but so that you could still see the shadows in the cars. i liked how the tree was bright in front and dark behind so i left it like it is.

on the last one i think i got the idea you are saying and i think it's very good idea, but my whole photo shooting yesterday was about shooting streetlamps at night when it was snowing, which don't see that much on the photos but wanted to give it a try.:)

when i first looked at the photo, i was drawn to the cars and the tracks in the snow more than the light, but i do see what you mean.
