hey welcome to the forum

not a terrible effort though it appears slightly out of focus

could also do with a tighter crop around the subject, bit too much background at the moment

Ok, cropped it up, and resized the original.. was a bit big for the post lol. For the focus, I had my focus set to point and focused on the butterfly itself. Could the bad focus be me or the camera? (my guess is me lol)

for macro shots I tend to prefer using manual focus

or stick it in burst mode and fire off a few shots while moving over the focus range of the subject

usually get one in focus that way, or you can use the different pictures to focus stack if you want to get a greater depth of field on the subject

course this stuff does depend on what your camera is able to do, no good on a point and shoot ;]

Added my setup to my sig lol. Only the one lens (for now)... Thanks for the input. I'll try the multi-shots and see if I can get a better focus shot.
