hi!

at the end of march i'm going to visit boston for about 3 or 4 days. I've never been there so I'm looking for some suggestions on places to go. I plan on exploring as much as I can but a general direction would be nice to have a start.

in the city, if anyone knows street names or something where the streets are really back in the day looking and have a lot of character. (or some nice coffee or food places to check out!)

out of hte city, probably an hour or 2 i can manage to go outside the city. looking for landscapes of any kind. i don't know what out there but rivers, lakes, waterfalls, fields? anything that's open.

any other suggetions on shooting locations/ just cool places to visit while i'm out there would be great!

thanks so much
:)

I've no idea i'm afraid, but this could be a good idea for a thread, listing good photographic locations around the UK, US etc (i'm sure some people would want to keep it secret though ;))

it would be nice to have a specific forum for shooting locations :)

im from MA.

you could go to North Easton and go to borderland state park. its very pretty when its warm out =) theres a gorgeous stone mansion in the middle, and it disperses. rivers, lakes, beautiful landscapes. check my flickr for some shots of it. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelllanes)

in boston, if you go to Boston Commons(just ask someone where the commons are and theyll kindly(maybe) point you there), there will be a big red line on the ground. you cant miss it. if you follow that, it takes you through historic boston where there are some great shots.

if you have any other questions, PM me or post here =D

VenomVindictia-
i'm actually from the US. I live in Illinois and in March i'm going to Bostson, MA to visit some colleges.
i wish i could go to england/europe for some photoshoots tho.

MLlanes-
how far is North Easton from the city? it looks really beautiful.

and as far as in boston when you say "historic boston" do you mean things from history (goverment buildings and stuff like that?) or just parts of boston that look older and have older buildings etc? I don't really like to do history type things, like tours andthat kind of a thing. I'm looking for older buildings/sections of the city that have that old feel to them.

and any other suggestions for parks/landscapes/rivers etc would be absolutly fantastic :)
i'll be there for 4 days and i'll have about 2 1/2 or so to go out and shoot ^_^

borderland should be under an hour away, depending on where in boston youre going to be.

also, the history trial is like, old boston. i know theres paul reveres house, and some old cemeteries and old churches.

i'm going to see massart! (that and AIB) how do you like the school? the area? are you in the photo program? is it a good program? any other info on the school i would LOVE! i can't seem to find people that go to any of the schools i'm looking at and i think people who go to the schools are really important to talk to.

and like i said i don't really want to do a tour of historical sites. i guess i would see some if it wasn't a tour/trail thing. but lol i guess i don't know how to exactly explain what i'm trying to look for

my brother goes to Wentworth right next door, and all the colleges around there are extremely nice.

one thing he says is that the people from massart are weird though. =) but i dont mind that.
