Hello! I just got my first Digital SLR, a Pentax KD200 with a Tamron Macro Lens.

my initial comment would be to watch where your focus is

the last one of the lighter for instance, the focus point is on the edge of the thumb and not the lighter

you using manual or automatic focus?

obviously using a smaller aperture (larger number) will give you a greater depth of field (wider area of focus)

I try to manual focus more then the Automatic.

yer I find manual focus is much better for macro work

must admit having liveview on my 40d is kinda nice too

tripod with a ballhead and a flash are also handy additions

good job with the rose pic

read up on focus stacking as well if you aren't familiar with it, kinda tricky at first though

You have some really awesome things going on, though a lot of images i find that the focus on a certain point is a little blurred, or not too sharp.

GoGoGodzirra - correct. I will try focus stacking, as Grumbledook suggested.

I do have a Joby - Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM tripod and a regular tripod, but I only use either one spratically. I am usually shooting on the fly!

Focus stacking sounds like a good idea!

Rose shot works well.

With macro, don't ever forget it's all about the light. The shot of the droplet in the Lupin could be lovely with the right lighting.
Try and work with an off camera flash cord to control the light more. This will also give your more accurate colour representation and enable you to work at smaller apertures. :)
