What is this?

A wiki is a collection of pages that can be created and altered by... well, anyone really. If you’re an artist and feel the need to contribute to what hopefully will become a great resource for other artists, you might want to try this thing out. It’s not dangerous or difficult. See a typo or error? Fix it. Want to add some piece of insight to an article? You are most welcome to!

Registration

First things first, registration is required to do any additions or editing of articles in the wiki.
The registration form can be found with the login, click the button at the bottom right.

Making Changes

Once logged in you can go to any page and click the button top-left to get the job done, by doing so it locks the article for 15 minutes to prevent other users to making changes while you are, however if that doesn’t stop them a page will appear showing you the changes made by the other user so you can change things accordingly.

All info in regard to how the Wiki’s formatting works, check the syntax page, a link is always visible while editing a page. Also check out the playground page, it’s a page where you can fool around without ruining anything. The formatting syntax is very easy to use.

Adding New Pages

In order to create a new page it is accepted Wiki practice to link to the non-existant page from another page and then clicking the link. There you have a button top-left that says “Create Page”, click it and start adding content.

To keeps thing in order, name spaces are usable. In short they are used to sort pages into categories, eg. references:nude

Deleting and Moving Pages

Sorry guys, but for abuse related reasons only admins can do this stuff, so if you want to move the page, create a new one at where you want it and send an email at sciboy@sciboy.org about deleting the old one.

Using Media in Wiki articles

I have enabled uploads for now, so you can insert an image into the page by clicking the tiny Picture Frame button on the editing toolbar, after which you can insert an image from the current gallery by clicking the image title or upload another file.

Please note there is an odd problem where an image without a name space must begin with a : in it’s link, eg. :image.jpg not image.jpg although files within a namespace work either way. Unfortunately by clicking the thumbnail it doesn’t insert this semi colon so you can either click the title instead of the thumbnail or put it in by hand.
