agreed, I think it would be good for you to pick up your sketchbook and draw more. lots more anatomy studies, keep doing your digital works, but keep a nice balance. keep up it up.

Fantastic Update! I can't wait to see more traditional media work. The wolf looks really well done.

jens covered most of what i had in mind typing.. so just read his remarks again

when doing stuff from picture ref, try to find source material with better/more interesting lighting.. full frontal lighting tends to flatten the subject, especially when a flash was used. Look for more dramatic lighted subjects, which use more than one lightsource. You'll learn so much more, and the end result will be more interesting to look at.. win win!

And yes, that looks like a mean brush you got there, but the repetitive pattern it brings in some of the edges is not always working for the better.. maybe experiement with tweaks to lose that... like randomise the rotation of it.

keep up the studies from life/ref to build up your imaginary database, use them when doing freeform.
be particulary judgemental on your own works from imagination, see where your crutches lie.. then you know what part of the studies to focus on.

been great oc-ing with you.. we'll do that again soon!

I always see that you look comfortable sketching in ps and the colors go down really well. Your dad's portrait is great too, looks like it should be a spot on likeness. Nice looking females too. Definitely have improved man, keep it up.

lastly finish this sp that im posting a wIP of.... (this is the first one ever since I joined conceptart 3 years ago, that my hair has been short!!!)
------------

and start workin up a tattoo design portfolio--- tryin to be an apprentice for a while, until I can affort art school. so like 10 more years before im in school again, its ok though, instead of a shitty job, ill be able to dedicate all my days to art!

heya! sorry i've been mostly missing from irc for the past few days..

that skull painting is beautiful, i love the color combo and the lil graphic details, keep it up the second watercolor piece with the firey guy seems abit empty, maybe add some subtle pattern to his clothing?

good start on the SP too, you're getting great with portraits!
