My second colored piece, ever (first one is here).
I originally didn't plan on coloring this at all. It was basically something i drew really quick for the sake of it. But when i was looking up some coloring tutorials, this one became my guinea pig. It's funny, too, because it's some of my craziest, most random linework.
I took the chance to experiment a bit, and even try something i had seen (The King of Fighters') Nona do before - combine flat cloth shadows with fully rendered skin.
The shadows in the lineart don't fully match the highlights and overall color rendering either, which i only noticed a while later...
And the upper right side of the image has a bit of a weird negative space going, which doesn't fully work. I'll probably add some text in a day or two.
Yeah, i'm crazy like that.
The shades of green are maybe too subdued, so the skin pops out. His abs and hips being the part wth the best skin rendering (IMO), i guess it ends up being the focus of the piece (i wanted the lips and eyes to be more of a focus - i'm a big Jojo Bizarre Adventures fan, so i'm big into strangely colored lips, hair and eyes)...Originally Posted by SarcophagusI kinda like the stylized coloring style. The flat colors vs. the shaded one is interesting... Kinda hard too look at it maybe, fo some reason I keep looking at the lower half of him. But maybe thats just me! He is very hot though
Thanks for your reply.
