Andy Park Art- GOD OF WAR PSP and beyond- update August 2008- all in first page!

Hello everyone-

I've been wanting to post more of my artwork here for awhile but most of my work I've been doing for the past 2 years is held up in NDAs. I've been busy working on the upcoming PS3 game, God of War III. I can't show any of that stuff yet but here's a bunch of images I can show as a follow up to my initial posting of God of War II stuff.

I've posted a couple of marketing illustrations I did for the God of War: Chains of Olympus PSP game as well as a few quick concepts I did for the game as well. I guess I can say that I officially worked on the Little Big Planet PS3 game as well... since I was lucky enough to create a Sackboy version of Kratos for the game (I hope they make a toy/beanie of it to purchase- that'd be so cool!). I also included a couple images I did for ImagineFX magazine, various creature roughs/sketches I like to do in my spare time, a Hulk painting, and a couple robot designs done for 2 different Craftsman commercials.

I'll have more to post in the near future. Thanks for looking ya'll!

That is incredible!! I was gonna tell you which ones I liked the best, but as I kept going I just lost count!!
I think my favourite is Mount Olympus and the one above with that amazing giant creature!
Do you work professionally? I feel honoured to have the first post, and give you a well deserved 5 stars!

Awesome... just awesome....

Nick

I've played and loved the game of god of war (1): I take a look an all images of your site related: no words!!! I really like the battle scene with Mars(?) on horse and Olympus scene.
(I've to say that I first known about you on your work on X man: I love your comics' style!!!).

Good morning Andy

Great work btw. I really like your stuff. I do have a question. Are you the Andy Park of the original Tomb Raider comic fame? If you are let me just say that your work was the best of the whole series. You have done some very good work.

I know your name from long time, on X Men, and now you are here...i'm a little shocked.
I admire your comic's work, now i know that you are also a great painter.
The throne rooms are simply Majestic. Amazing stuff here.

You and your team did an amazing job creating this world and filling it with inhabitants. I bought the God of War II art book and I was nothing short of amazed by the quality and the overall motif that you all made possible. God of War II is truly one of those rare titles where art direction, gameplay mechanics, level design, music and story all mesh perfectly to create an amazing experience.

damn dude.....If they ever re-envision clash of the titans they need to call you!
I looked through your site ...love the work for God of war2...
what techniques/software do you favor for your illustrations...and about how long do they take... how fast are you expected to generate your pieces..?

good luck man, great work, very inspirational.

Awesome man. You really capture that immense feeling of 'Gods' and their beasts. Zues' throne room has the right amount of spectacle and stature I would think his throne room should have. If you have more you can post, please do!

Amazing stuff, Mr. Park! I've always been a fan... but one thing to nit-pick (and I thought of this when I first saw the image elsewhere than here)... is Kratos' torso supposed to be extended that way in the last picture where he is standing on the palm of the (I think) Colossus? It just seems... long.

Again, great stuff! Thanks for posting them!

There are some nice works here Andy...but to be completely honest I only like 2 or three of them I have trouble reading some of the anatomy on a creature or two, but it just may be the style...love the coloring! Lighting is great too, what program did you use? Painter with photoshop? My favorites are the large grunt variant and the ice cave shot!

P.S. Runner up is the Cerberus!

Looks cool, Andy. I'm not a big fan of the really flashy stuff with lightning coming out of eyes, mouths and whatnot, but I think it works pretty well in your pictures.

This is probably my favourite of the pics you posted, good textures and feel to this character.

You win. I have yielded my pencil to your greatness. :p No, really, this is something else. I've seen the trailers and in game play, but seeing the concept art for any kick ass game is always that much better. Now when I play this game, I can be like to my friends, "Yeah, the graphics are sick huh? I know the guy who did the concept art for it...yep, I know him" 5 stars from me

Wouch! Lookin' sweet. I loved God Of War, one of the best games I ever played, I gotta get my PS2 fixed so I can get this one too.

From your creatures it looks like its gonna be even better than the last one.

I've known you mostly as a comic artist. At first it was kind of misunderstanding or sort of confusion when I read your name involved with the God of War concepts. Such a great surprise man! You have done wonderful job!

Cheers
