I like the title line of this article as well --- what do you think?

A lot of hallucinogens were used for religious/shamanic rituals, so it doesn't really surprise me. The status of such drugs being reduced for 'entertainment' purposes and further fueling criminal activities is depressing though.
Hahaha! i was thinking the same thing!Originally Posted by ElwellSuddenly everything starts to become clear...
it's hard for me to take an anti-cannabis stand considerin i did it and havent turned out too lazy . but in the end i guess all my trips, good or bad were just a reflection of what was goin on in my head right then. grass, it's like an amp to me, dosent really create a new feelin, just pumps up whatever feeling is happenin. to me its the whole 'taboo' thing is what i feel screws it up for kids who're tryin it out. if there was just more communication happenin between them and people who have been through it, im sure there would be a lot less cases of crimes etc.
jumpin into the deep end may be dangerous as hell, but i feel like iv learned to swim ONLY because of it, would have been too lazy to learn, chillin out in the shallow end.
Rizla +. Its what you make of it.
edit: to rastas, cannabis is called the wisdom weed
the sole intention is learning to fly
It's funny when an argument becomes so thin that you need to turn to 3000 years old scripts to justify stupidity.
Using cannabis in shamanic rituals or for meditation etc. is absolutely ok for me. That does mean they weren`t constantly high like some teenagers are nowadays. So , i see no danger for your memory or your mental stability. But those "constant stoners" are a problem in my opinion. Im generally for legalicing cannabis but there would be a similar problem like with alcohol. Some idiots will overdo it or are overdoing it right now. And such cases will become public awareness and further will pull the governments opinion on drugs even more to the negative side. (let aside the war on drugs , but thats a different topic)
Is high art -- good art -- meaning - should I get high to do my art? All through college that was the focus get high do art... If I am remembering right... Thinking that to create spiritual meditative works of art means being high to do it, is a farce. I think that I do better work now as I am "clean" off the illicit drugs, well, my countries illicit ones... all though sometimes I will speed (if you can call it that) on caffeine and do speed pictures.
Is there a link between madness and creativity?

Wasn't there a thread about this just a while ago?
Short answer, no, drugs don't help...
The question is not whether weed helps you draw or not. The question is, do you draw better relaxed or stressed?
Though I don't think drugs in general'd make it any easier to create while under the actual influence, processely speaking, I do think drugs can enhance and enrich the flow of inspiration, if you use with that purpose that is.

I like to relieve stress by creating art. Because it is relaxing ...
once the stress is gone by using art as the tool to relax me I end up looking for stress again or tension if you will to be relieved...
but (consider that everything after "but" is a rationalization to use some thing to get out of myself...) I miss the drugs I was doing when I did the Art back in college but (this but negates the last but) will never go back to using that lead to the homelessness. loss of all the art that was created while 'high'
sorry if I have been annoying lately but just trying to center my focus and ground myself again...
