Aztec Space Traveller
Intelligent life forms have been visiting our planet for thousands of years. They created a giant landing strip in the Nazca desert. They have been celebrated as statues and other relics created by many civilizations in Central America.Originally Posted by oishiiniku

I don't know if I can kill people with my art as ikuru mentionned, but I am willing to try.
Count me in for this one. It will hopefully turn better than the last one.
Work in progress...
Hoping to finish it in time !
Rough comp with some 3D stuff I had lying around. Somehow I find it easier to do sketches in 3D. A more finished concept is underway.
OK, it's done, though not as well as I'd like it. The paint's still wet, so I had to shoot it with my wife's digital camera. Be gentle, I haven't worked in oils for years ( I think the next one of these is going to be in gouache).
I will work this up a bit more later this week.
Here is my final. My first COW entry ever.
Well i got no time to finish it for the deadline because of too much school work. Well its the result for now.
Good work every1
Actualy didn't like the 3 of them but had to make a choice!
This should be it.
People thought he litteraly came out of the sun, but he was just passing trough on his way to another galaxy.
A lot of people died as an offer for him. He never knew, maybe when he's on his way back and hopefully stops by again, we can explain what happenend.
(sorry for my poor English)
Heres my WIP, cool work all around fellas
Quetzalcoatl serpent humanoid based creature,
I still need to clean up the ortho views to make
clear how is the this guy moves, just as
a quick explanation the character suit its designed
to function on a low gravity environment, and to
walk on two or four legs.
Hey guys, heres mine ^_^
CHOW 62 - Aztec Spaceman
It is common held history that the decline of the Aztec civilisation was tied with the decline of their corn crops multiplied by the threat of the Spanish. While this is true, it was not the real reason of the once mighty civilisation.
The aztecs had infact been in contact with their Gods, a supreem race from beyond the stars. Taking their offer, the entire Aztec civilisation had gone to a new homeworld beyond the stars.
Hundreds of years later, and the blood thirsty nation has once again begun to collapse, and this time it is their society which is to blame.
crits please ^_^
lovley entries so far people.
This is my guy just about finished.
man! cakeypigdog, thats just insane!
i really hope i´m able to finish mine....it´s not even close to be finished yet
the main idea is, that the aztec space traveller is a highly developed shaman who uses the two nature spirits two protect him from any outer influences and guide him through space, his own spirit which serves as "engine" determines how fast he is travelling.
Here be my WIP-onomicon! Cool entries so far
Cakey diggin it!
pjentaszeq Sweet! But I think I like it better without the face to be honest... maybey if she had a very non-descript mask, no eyeholes or anything, just a bad ass aztech design.
Pizza by the Slice!
Cooked this one up with in the hour, along with some spice it does the trick.
Unable to find a feasible method for traveling between the stars with spacecraft, the Mordrata focused their scientific knowledge elsewhere. After centuries of effort they finally built the Lojhar, a race of super-intelligent androids that could travel the distances between the stars looking for other life. However, for the Mordrata time was running out, and while their creations had been roaming the stars, their sun Arcturus was dying. As Arcturus grew into a red giant the Mordrata's planet was consumed by the fiery star, and all that remained of their great civilization were the wandering Lojhar.
Eventually one of the the Lojhar reached a small planet near the outer rim of the galaxy. Earth. It arrived in what we call Pre-Columbia, or ancient Mexico, and was worshipped as a god. To the Pre-Columbians, the nearly 10-foot tall Lojhar was a god incarnate. It was worshipped fervishly, and imparted to the Meso-Americans their incredible knowledge of the stars. After a few years the Lojhar left, and in a continued attempt to educate the people it left the red information crystal from it's chest with them. Unfortunately the people couldn't get the crystal to work, and it and the knowledge it contained became lost over time. They did however build an incredible pantheon of gods and rituals because of the Lojhar's visit. One of the most notable was the offering of the human heart to the gods, just as the Lojhar had left it's information crystal.
Heya, heres my start, gonna have to tweek a fair bit, my 'Aztec' os looking pretty Egyptian at the moment. Googles letting me down with Aztec images dagnabbit. Anyways I mess around and hopefully I'll be able to wrangle it into some kinda Aztecian whatsit.
Great Entrys so far !!!
here is mine.
Concept: The Space Beings who gave his Knowledge to the ancients Aztecs.
In exchange, they share his culture whit them.
A fair change.
PD: if i have time, I´ll try to work in the details and draw some aztec people below the space being.
Several thousand years ago the kings of the sky visited earth. They landed their spaceship in South America where they found a small civilisation. The two people built a mighty city in the mountains together, which they lived in for centuries. After a long friendly relasionship, the humans started to show their bad side. The greed of humanity took over the minds of the indians and they started to missuse the power and wealth that the kings had given them. A big slaughter began as the kings of the sky took revenge upon the humans.
Crap.. ran out of time.. it's a school night... had work.. Had to wrap this up real quick to make the deadline... Alot of way too busy elements, crappy planning, bad pose, no aztec reference... just inspired by music and lines of Nazca.
This is a Nazcan. Upon coming in contact with the ancient south/central american peoples, this very left-brained species had a creative revolution. They began creating details and shapes to help enhance the look of their clothes and technology. Sight is not their primary sense (Sense/Touch is), so it had not seemed important to them to create things that were beautiful. All of their practical technology became ergonomic and organically shaped, but they couldn't abandon their love of straight-geometry. Instead of having corners, they just use straight lines and curves. To thank the Earth inhabitants for their contribution to Nazcan society, they left large decorations of earth animals in an arid region. None would realize the full beauty of these until the 20th century.

The Snake Woman Conquers the Universe
Much has been said about the reasons of the Pan-american hegemony of the Aztec civilization. Some books praise their superior intellect, others their incredibly sophisticated bureaucratic society, and some texts even describe their "special relation with the Gods" that allowed them to predict the outcome of conflicts before they hapenned. Of course, all those books' veracity should be taken with a grain of salt, since they were written under the iron fist of the contemporary Aztec Regime (1758-today). The fact is that today, as we celebrate the end of the nineteen century, the Aztec Theocratic Republic is the only super-power in the world, their territory extending from the icy plains of the Tierra Del Fuego, or Tlexictli ("Navel of Fire") in the Náhuatl language, all the way to the the extreme north of the Alaskan lands, now renamed Eztli-Momoztli, or "Altar of Blood"... and beyond.
Yes, dear readers: as I write these lines, Aztec feet boots the dusty martian soil. Their spacecraft, the Quetzacoatl IV, left Earth thirty-eight months ago, carrying six Galactonauts. According to Aztec gcustom, their faces and names were never known by the public. The only daguerreotypes published by the papers were of them in their full bronze exo-suits; intimidating warrior-like masks breathing mechanically and staring at the reporters from empty eye-holes, long red Giant Pheasant plumage hanging from their helmets. So intimidating their presences were, it looked to me like the Aztecs wanted not only to conquer Mars, but also beat it into submission.
The mystery about the explorers' identities generated rumours that they were in fact automatons, magically powered by the captured hearts of the Aztec's enemies; a dying practice by today's human rights laws, but some say still performed in the higher circles of the Snake Woman's royal court. Robotic or not, the Galactonauts managed to plant the Feathered Snake Flag in the Vallis Marineris and claimed the Red Planet in the name of the Golden Republic. Now, a full year after the landing, work has been initiated in the first Martian Pyramid, sister to the Central Temple in Tenochtitlan.
My sources in the Aztec capital say that, when aligned, the two pyramids will connect a powerful laser beam between the two planets. What is the purpose of the beam the government would not disclose, in typical Aztec fashion. Conspiracy theorists say the laser is to be used in a rebirth of the ancient mass sacrifice rituals once widespread in the Aztec empire. Sounds far-fetched, but based on his devotion to militaristic actions and racist remarks, I would say the recently elected Snake Woman is a man capable of anything, even challenging the international community with a comeback to the Ancient Aztecs' blood-thirsty traditions (of which he once confessed being an admirer). The Aztec Calendar is going to end in less than a year after the completion of the pyramid (coinciding with the alignment of the Earth with Mars). Every time that happened in the ancient times, mass sacrifices were required by the Aztec Gods to prevent the End of the World and facilitate the passage into a new cycle. Are they planning to bring back that Meso-american brand of religion carnage into out more civilized times? If the doomsayers are right, we will probably know soon... and that could only speel trouble to the rest of the world.
