Concept Freelancers Please Respond.

Hi,

I'm manager of a small startup studio based in the UK.

We will soon be looking to find freelance artists for concepts, models and other works (and for a long term relationship between concept artist and our company).

If youre a freelancer, or know someone with talent who is, please get in touch at

zoombapup@blueyonder.co.uk

We will be doing a variety of small and medium sized game developments (typically between 3 and 12 month development cycles) and will need concepts for all projects before they go ahead (and these will be varied).

Currently in development/design stage (as an example)

3D Multiplayer space combat game (for reference, see Eve online)
2D unique cutesy character based game (for reference, see Theme Hospital)

If you do get in touch, please put a link to an online resume (please dont send attachments, they will be rejected), if possible, please include a rough schedule of your typical charges for works (just a ballpark is fine, simply want to have some method of sorting potentials by cost/type etc).

Thanks.

Phil.

Thanks for the responses.

I didnt want to have to respond to everyone individually right now, but I will when I get a bit more time.

I just want to thank everyone who's replied to my request. Plenty of great artists have replied, some of you guys I'll bookmark for further work.

I'm still interested in seeing more, so if you havent dropped me a mail, please please do.

As to the guys that seem to best fit our needs, I'll get in touch soon, just waiting for a lull in development (in crunch on a prior project, so I've got very little time for the next few weeks).

Thanks for sending your info guys, and thanks for the patience if i dont reply immediately.

Phil.

lets count :)

About 30 or so.

Its good though, we'll be keeping everyone's details even if we dont need thier style's right now, there are always new projects that come along that may need a different angle.

I happen to find the idea of concept art for games quite important, things like identifiying a visual style, colour set etc is important for more than just consistancy. Its just easier to work with people from other countries (which is one of our main goals, to work with many smaller specialists than trying to create a single huge studio) when you have good quality concepts.

Thanks for all those who've replied by the way. Keep em coming!

Phil.
