Sci-Fi: HERCULEAN VESSEL BEING BUILT BY A MULTITUDE OF CRANES & MACHINERY
And that is it.
This pic is screaming out for some custom brushs and a bit of cleaning up. But to lazy .
HOLY FORK!!! How the crap do you guys do these soo fast! I need to learn from these pros ;P
Do you guys use tablets to work directly on the compy? Or do you guys draw -> scan -> color? Like I have to :-\ It's just amazing to me. Any advice or tutorials on how to properly color would be cool!
Mitze - I think you and I have a similiar drawing style... so I can really relate to how your piece. I'm a big fan of the wires and overall cybernetic look of the entire ship itself.
Hamsta - I like the fact that it's on a dramatically large scale, but there is a bit of dead-space in the upper left of the picture. Don't know if you want any suggestions or anything, but maybe put a sunset or something like that? Clouds maybe? Sorry if it seems rude to comment like that, I still think it's great given the fact that it was in such a quick manner. I could never do anything that fast even if I tried lol!
Tommoy - You also have an epic scale just like Hamsta. You are both definitely unique for that. I'm a big fan of really filling up my canvas. That's why I'm so slow especially since I don't really know how to color digitally. Mad props to all of you!
Malakai, i for one always use a tablet for sketching, drawing and colouring. Here are some interesting tutorials:
WIP, as my time ran out (& all because I fucked up early on, and noticed it late - tried a bad process today).

cool sketches everybody!
Dan - very nice.
here's mine - about 15minutes in PS.
I should have forced the perspective a little more the ship doesn't seam very HERCULEAN!
I got lazy at the end but it's still my favorite daily
Tommoy - neat design, feels fresh. I'm not too sure about the figure in the foreground, I understand that he is there to give the sense of scale, but try pulling him a bit closer to the viewer if he's on a separate layer.
Mitze - I like your perspective, and that’s a star wars battle ship over there in the top right hand corner , maybe try having some more contrast in the bottom of the cranes because they are closest to the viewer with the least aerial perspective, while top crane should be lighter. I think that would push the sense of depth more.
Hamsta - I like the cleanliness of it, but I think you are a bit off in the perspective, especially with the red crane of the right hand side and with the horizon line.
Bismond - neat idea for a composition, but I'm missing a scale reference to actually feel the size of the thing
Dan liimatta - you surprise me a new each time, posting after seeing your work always adds that sense of challenge to my work, thanx
Overall superb I think, the only think that it the ship feels kinda abandoned and old rather than newly constructed, maybe because the color that reminds me of rust.
Rob-ot - I like the atmosphere , I agree with you doesn't really seem that Herculean, maybe if the ship was cropping outside of the picture frame it would seem much larger
Supialoctopod - I like the colors and the down to earth feel of yours, the only think that bothers me Is that I am not exactly sure on where to focus my eyes on, also the ship seems to be lying on top of the electrical lines, and the large building behind the vessel makes the vessel look much smaller.
My try, was really a fun experiment with 3 point perspective, didn’t have the patience to go into the coloring stage.

Dan, love yours. I need to start using more color.
I spent too long on this and had to stop. Wanted to add a planet in the BG and add a bunch of detail to the construction/refit dock.

Malakai SinClair Constructive crits that might help me improve as an artist?! how dare you?![/sarcasm]
VadiQ You made a bold decision, taking such an extreme perspective, I like it, got an obelisk thing going on.
I won't go near the thing, though, with only those flimsy cranes supporting it.
See before drawing, feel before understanding.
Tommoy, great work, yours is my fave, its got a real bold use of colour and nice composition, although as always there is a great showing from everyone.
This is my piece, it took a bit longer than i was expecting(about 2-3 hours) and was done in painter and PS.
Hey folks, long time no see! Rockin that dsg is still active!
Vitreous- nice more organic vessel there!
Anyway, this is not really a sketch since I spent a few days on it, but I need portfolio pieces...
pft - daily?
really good stuff though.
