Here's the start of my sketchbook. I was a 3D environment artist at Sony for 3 years and now I'm testing out the conceptual design waters. I'm taking side classes at Gnomon. Crits and ideas are welcome. Let me know what's right and wrong, likes and dislikes. Thanks and I'm sure it's gonna get pretty random in here.
Workin on some character designs for space marines
And some designs in the realm of Mad Max

Messing around with more color comps and style for the space marines and "baddies"
Maybe a cool underwater gun....but I think I have to make it less phallic
"absorb what is useful, discard what is useless, and keep what is essentially your own." - Bruce Lee
Bojee's Monkey Brain
Excellent digipaints! Along with cool character designs.
An obvious professional.
did these over the last 2 days.
Ben Olson was my inspiration to do somethin' nastified....
And playin gears of war inspired the other
Crits are welcome
Some underwater themed stuff
An WWII inspired flying thing.... I guess
N1va, thanks, I've been working as a 3d environment artist for 3 years so I've probably learned thru osmosis of looking at 3D models, everything I do is an accident
Designboot, yeah I gotta keep painting in photoshop. practice practice practice.
More randomness. They all started as pencil drawings then onto photoshop.
I still have not mastered the "straight-to-digital " thing yet
Practicing some production illustrations/ color comps. Obviously War of the Worlds was my inspiration.
This stuff is all looking really good. All I can suggest is maybe some edge quality on some of the stuff. The edges are a little blurry, like on the mech stuff sharper edges would make things pop more. But like I said very nice.
Giving you some stars! Excellent work. I really like you space marines and the dynamic style of your poses and clothing. Eye popping stuff!
i like this character:
good stuff, love the design and lines - though for the digipaints you should look into some more colour studies
though I really like your mech/armor colours, and that mad-max buggie is hot
Anyway lovely stuff/SB.
SB. p31 updated 25.04.2012.
Awesome and original concepts!
