I have finally started carrying a sketchbook with me on a regular basis, and ive had a small problem and just wonder what your preferences are.
My favorite eraser is just a regular grey knead eraser, it works great and lifts the graphite well, but its kind of a hassle to take places like at work and hanging out around town. The eraser on the end of my pencil is a white mars staedler eraser, but from my experience, it can smear if theres a little too much graphite down.
Do you guys carry an eraser/eraserpen? or a seperate eraser? or just whatevers on your pencil?
I just use a kneaded eraser that I flatten and stick to the front cover of my sketchbook. Bingobango.
the best is the pitt Perfection eraser from Utrecht
You can sharpen it.
I got myself a small flat plastic container from the containerstore to put my kneadeds in, works great, no more hairs or grimey bits in it. Or get like an altoids tin or something.

This would be my Pleine Air blog
the eraser linked by avid kassan is very similar to the Staedler Mars Rasor, looks the same.I've got it, and its great for carving out highlight and erasing small details.Apart from that i use a Staedler White Mars, ad i'm ok with that with big areas. My kneaded eraser is rolled in some kind of paper that avoid it getting dirty, and its inside a separate pocket of my pencil holder...but i don't use it a lot when i'm out of the house...
i use this little remarkable thing that's an electric eraser, it's small and got replaceable erasing nibs.
it's actually a small motor on batteries that have a eraser tip.
it was cheap also, about 4E
alright thanks for the tips, i really like kneaded erasers, so ill probably try flattening it inside my sketchbook, putting it in a case sounds good too, but thats more to carry... just, cellphone, sketchbook, mp3, wallet, pencil/pen, things start to add up, hah.
