Let's see some portrait studies eh? Photos or life, doesn't matter.

What helps is doing placement excersizes... Alot of people only thing to do them when they are doing something they need to look good in, but doing them correct, and often really helps drill it into you.

Here is some more experimenting with my watercolors. Getting tha hang of it, me thinks. Some of the lighter colors weren't picked up by the scanner, bummer.

More watercolor fun. Watercolors are really a cool medium.1/hr. I updated this piece today (Jan 15) it needed more depth, so i added some light trees in the background.

Hey Mack,
Jeez!...didn't see you had a new book.
Your figure work is coming along.
One of the many tricks with women is not
rendering every muscle...makes em look a bit mannish.
But other than that...keep em comin.
Cheers!

Wow Lone wolf, this is a badass sb. I love the way you use darks, I always feel like I'm drowing in a drawing or using a lot of black, but definitly know how to control it. I'm really digging your line quality also.

Crit: feb 1 post, guy lifting his arm: The anatomy looks good, There is a problem with his right pectoral muscle, when an arm is lifted the peck is also raised, stretching the muscle out. But in your drawing the muscle is looks the same as if it were relaxed. Keep em coming. This skull rendering is looking mmm mmm good, can't wait to see an update. Keep up the good work.
