Alpha Bettie - first 5 pages!

Grandmassa Mr. Spect: Thanks for stopping by. Great you like my Crypt work. Let me know how you like the story please.

OldNoobie: Cool comment! Thx.

Dreamworker: Thx again man!

jedininjaman: Thank you very much. The 'old' and 'classic' feel was something Bastei wanted to see for this covers. Great to see it works.

paperX: Thank you! It is good to read you like my Maya preview. I have big plans with this story ... oh btw: is the video still working and how do you like it?

Now to Alpha Bettie:

Name: AB_weblogo.jpg
Views: 1059
Size: 18.9 KB

Here is a short description what it is about:

The story is written by former IDW editor Dan Taylor. The year is 2053. Lieutenant Bettie Swift is an officer and fighter pilot with the United Solar Fleet serving aboard the U.S.S. Patriot. She is a member of the Alpha Squad (hence the name Alpha Bettie). She’s a firecracer, but an ace fighter pilot.

The project is on a hold for now because of my other projects I'm working on. It's open when and with who the project will launch with but you already can get a five page sneak peek of our sci-fi work in progress here. The pages shown here are finished for quite a while now. Please keep in mind the pages are older than my other comic projects like 'Tales from the Crypt' or my new project 'It came from beneath the sea... again!'. Art (everything from layout to colors) is 100% done by me.

Let me know how you like them.

Here they are...

Intercomic 62!

Staz: Thank you very much for stopping by. It's great you like it!!

Todays post is a short one without new art. Instead I have some news for all German readers of this thread:

Name: intercomic.jpg
Views: 1054
Size: 90.5 KB

I will be at the German convention 'Intercomic' in Cologne on next Saturday (November 3). I will sign my work for the MADDRAX spinoff series 'Das Volk der Tiefe' from 11 to 13 o'clock. I will be at the con a little longer.

It would be great to meet you there!

Best,

Chris

Thumbs up

Quite awesome work.
I read your article in Gamestar/dev last month. Thank you so much. I like it to have tutorials printed 'cause you can read them whereever you are etc.
Nice style. Hope to read more from you.

Intercomic 62

First I have to thank all you guys who visited me at the 62. Intercomic in Cologne. It was great!

Here are two pics I've got from the Con:

Name: intercomic62_chris_noeth_01.jpg
Views: 971
Size: 101.1 KB

Name: intercomic62_chris_noeth_02.jpg
Views: 965
Size: 168.1 KB

... and on to the last posts:

Dynamike: Alpha Bettie is a lot of fun, but it will take some time before this project will see print because of my other comic projects which have prio1. Thank you!

PredatrHuntr: Thank you very much! I love Predator btw. The first movie with Arnold is awesome. I remember in the late eigties I dreamt about drawing a Predator comic someday. Today there are so much comic books and also sequel movies of this character I lost my interest in it. It isn't about the man vs. monster anymore. But looking at your sketchbook is very inspiring and remembering this time made me interested again. Thx!

Flesheater: Thank you! Great you are looking forward to Bettie. And it is good to read you like what you see here

Maxerateur: Welcome on board! Thx for your comment! Great to hear you like my GameStar/dev article. Watch out for my new one which should be out this days. It's a 'Making Of' of one of my novel-covers to 'Maddrax-Das Volk der Tiefe'. I think you will like the new one too. Thx again!

CU all soon!

Best,

Chris

I love the panels, nice colors and storytelling. especially the environments. My only crit is that the inking sometimes takes away from it, or looks sorta blocky/pixelated maybe? That and sometimes theres too many folds/wrinkles in the clothes. But other than that its all really great!

Merry X-Mas everyone!

Dynamike: Thank you! I'm working on it

Flesheater: Great you like the comic preview so far. Thx! It is great to read you like the 'movie feel' to it because I want to make this comic feel like a movie. Great to see it works ... the first issue should be out summer 2008.

anticasper: Thank you very much! Thx for stopping by.

Darkwebslinger: Thx for your comment! Great to know my stuff motivates you to draw! To your questions: I do all the art on my pages myself so: Layout and pencils 1 day, inks a half day and colors from a half to one day. My actual projects are "It came from beneath the sea... again!" and some cover artwork for other Bluewater books. The other stuff I can't talk about yet

Mr.Delicious: Thank you very much for checking it out! And I appreciate your crits!

I wish you guys a Merry X-Mas!

Don't forget to check out issue #4 of "Tales from the Crypt" which comes out this week! The perfect gift for X-Mas btw...

Have a great time with your friends and family!

great stuff!!

Here's some thoughts though.

The shirt doesn't really looks convincing. Especially the collar...You might want to simplify it or make it more like a normal shirt (for the readability)

The tentacle monster looks very good!
But you might wanna look at this before you take it further.

Help fighting cancer!

Todays images are from some sketchcards I did for the Blueline American Cancer Society auction.

More information about the auction you can read at:
Blueline American Cancer Society auction info!

So go and get them! I bet you allways dreamt about getting the chance to be the owner of a 'Captain Pike' sketch... right? Here is your chance!

Before I show you the cards some feedback to your posts:

paperX: Thx! I can't give it more tentacles because the original only had six in the movie. This one is TOP SECRET to talk about but it should have not more than six too I think

hurricane: Thank you very much. And I totally appreciate your comments on how to make things more convincing!

Here are the covers to the German novels "Das Volk Der Tiefe" from issues #10 to #12.

Harryhausen DVD!

Today's post isn't showing any new art.
Instead it is showing some good news for every Harryhausen and comic fan!

My first pages from the comic sequel to the classic horror movie "It Came From Beneath The Sea!" are on the new Ray Harryhausen color DVD (2-disc) version of this movie which came out in January 2008!

Here is the cover for the DVD. (Click for big version!)

And some more information about the 2-disc DVD:

Now’s your chance to get Ray Harryhausen’s classic It Came From Beneath the Sea — in COLOR. Personally supervised by Ray, with colorization by West Wing Studios. This edition also includes a restored b&w version of the film.

It Came From Beneath the Sea was the first of several fruitful collaborations between producer Charles H. Schneer and special-effects wizard Ray Harryhausen. “It” is a giant, six-tentacled octopus, which is galvanized into action by an H-bomb test. Worse still, the monster is highly radioactive, rendering useless the normal means of defense against it. Scientists Donald Curtis and Faith Domergue team with atomic-submarine commander Kenneth Tobey to halt the creature’s progress before it begins to attack major coastal cities. Alas, the monster manages to reach San Francisco, wreaking havoc on the Golden Gate Bridge, the Ferry Building, and Market Street before Tobey figures out a way to destroy it. The stop-motion animation utilized by Harryhausen in It Came From Beneath Sea is convincingly frightening, but before long he’d top this achievement with such superb projects as Earth vs. Flying Saucers and Seventh Voyage of Sinbad.

Special Features:
* Feature avaliable in original B&W and color
* Audio Commentary with Ray Harryhausen
* Visual Effects Astists Randall William Cook and John Bruno, and Arnold Junert
* Remembering It Came from beneath The Sea
* Tim Burton Sits Down with Ray Harryhausen
* David Schecter on Film Music’s Unsung Hero
* A Present-Day look at Stop-Motion
* Digital Sneak Peek of “It Came From Beneath The Sea… Again!” comic book
* Video Photo Galleries
* Original Ad Artwork

Best,

Chris

Last Man Standing 3 - Entry

Here you can see a bigger version of my 'Last Man Standing' Entry.

It shows 'MAYA' the main character for a comic series I will working on after my actual projects are finished. I posted a promo image of 'MAYA' earlier in this thread.

I hope you like the new one.
