hey brother, how you doing?
Can't say how impressed I am with these pen drawings of yours sir. Like how you are approaching composition, your hard work is paying off and you are more comfortable with a pen in your hand - and now that you are so comfortable with it, you seem to be playing around with it some more.
Something to keep in mind - do not feel so compelled to connect all the elements in you composition. Negative space is very valuable, and you are destroying some good composition by destroying the negative space between the elements.
do more of what you did here:
so how well this one works because some things exist separate from the focal point, and are able to complement and support it.
But I really like these drawings, in fact - do you mind if I do some colouring on one or two of them?
Just one more comment - about the porno works. They're not quite doing it for me yet. Right now they operate almost as stills from a porno movie with a "bhanu" filter placed over them. You need to bring something else into them, to deliver some type of commentary on porn or sex or sexuality. I think you could be really successful in drawing sexual ambiguous figures - draw and paint them in such a way that the viewer does not know whether he or she is looking at a gay, straight or lesbian couple.
Along with that you might introduce other elements, like your subjects might be thinking about other things, etc. I think you've got a solid base, but there is room for more conceptual depth. You drawing and painting style has something disturbing and subversive to it, so take advantage of that.
Clochette- YOur wish is my command
Bren "the man " Noeth- Thanks for the encouraging works man.....
I totally agree with you on the 'joining the elements part' - I try to find a balance between the connection of the different elements and their unique place. But sometime I try to put the connections too much and disturb the balance of negative and positive shapes.
And Please go on Color them all you want..you can only make them look BETTER , I know.
Reject D- Thanks .
Brendan "I love you " Noeth- Again I have to say I agree. Yknow painting porno isnt as fun as making them I think.... I want to get more creative with it...do something more crazy....
Big Fucking Painting
ITs 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide...took more or less 4 days to make...
Its about the juxtaposition of figures with architectures...the paradoxes that lie, the conflict between the moving bodies and the still/static buildings and a lot more..
That last painting is fuckin awsome man. Very inspiring style.
