Ok so ive been working on this creature for a few hours today, but im at a loss now, i dont know where to go from here. Cant figure out a background or what else, if anything, the creature needs. Some suggestions for a background would be very helpful and any other crits or comments would be helpful too. thanks for viewing.

give it a skin and show where the muscels are

<mildly sarcastic remark that seems a little cutting at first read, but contains wisdom and is really rather funny>
Ilaekae: "I'm sick and tired of "purists" who dictate their own anal preoccupations to everybody else as the word of gods."
You weren’t kidding about the “explosive phallus” title, were you?
Try giving him a shadow, and highlighting the ground, so he’s not floating in the air. And fill the rest of the background with the same types of marks as he is made up of.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

thanks for the input, updated a few things...still working on it though.
its a cool character, reminds me of something from guild wars. try getting out an anatomy book and try sculpting out some better forms on him, especially on the arms and the stomach area. Also try to find a main light source for him where you want it to come from, or what you want the main focus to be, his head looks interesting, but all i look at is that orange circle on his stomach.
Looking real nice so far...I'd pull the back legs down though ,right now it seems like it's standing on a ramp. the arms could be in a more interesting position IMHO..He's also so monsterish I'd get rid of the chest and abbs... give him something less human...look'n real sick though.keep up the good work!
