The topic was "the Survivor." Vote for your favorite!
Cup of Joe:
Some really nice stuff this round, a few of you guys really went the extra mile on it. Post suggestions for future topics if you got 'em.
Pixeldragoon you get my vote, but it was hard to choose between u and Evil sloth !
Really nice entries.
Evil Sloth's, not cause it screams 'survivor', but because the vote was accidental and I later found out I wanted to vote for Luxun, sorry
My vote goes to Evil sloth (but I still can't vote) so +1 for him
luxun got no votes?... haaaarsh :/ I think his entry is the best man :/
wow luxun did a traditional Piece...its a nice Illustration too.
I was so worried when I pulled up the poll that the last option would be "Green Topaz" D:
Thanks for all the support guys, I'll try to finish mine up this weekend.
I voted for Evil_Sloth, nicely done!
voted Pixel's although that dragon will still never get of f the ground but the guy might be able to talk him out of eating him....unless of course the dragon itself is the survivor.....
Sloths is well drawn and beautifully rendered...but who's the survivor? and is attacking with violence the only way to survive...I dunno didn't seem quite as on topic.
as always great job all you folks.....
Chaos, I've been working on it, but the latest is still WIP. I just submitted this one for the deadline is all =\
Try refreshing I guess.. I dunno. =(
MAN this is a close one!!!
hate to be a poop...but we are talking visual imagery here. It shouldn't have to be explained. and if it does, it didn't succeed. Unless one wants the viewer to make the interprtation for them selves. but even so.
it aint communication, if it don't communicate
if there were no topic sloth is a clear winner.
To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.
Not sure who you were speaking to- but Sloth's I think had much more of a "survivor" to it than mine.
And next time no paintovers for you Slothy!!! =P
Chaos, what I was talking about was the wings- here is the latest wip:
Though I still don't like the wings, I tried to make it more believable, but I'm still not satisfied with it, even after all the work! Augh! D:

Ack, crap... this is rough. I've got to abstain from voting for a little... too rough. When's the poll close?
Sloth - Sweet motion, cool design. Got a real depth of field thing going on. I wish some of the strokes were a little smoother, particulary on the faces.
Prophet- Cool design and good comp. Colors and edges are a little muddy perhaps?
JesterCapp- I think if it was based on concept alone I might have to vote yours, got a good feel to it and I love the little guy's expression.
Pixel- You're tackleing so damn many things at once it's hard to give a focused crit Just polish everything I guess @_@ I dunno, I'm not a huge fan of the high contrast - having black and white; could have been nice to have a more dominate hue overall - something to go with the dragons sort of violet perhaps?
Wombat- Hehe, good concept and a good feeling of impending doooom. Is it me or does the reflection on his mask seem to indicate the sun being in a different direction? Also, maybe it's just my monitor but his left (our right) hand is pretty lost.
Subvicto- Straight up Hollywood eh? Hehe. In yours I see three good renderings but lack of a solid whole you know? Can you think of a better angle to show a car jumping off of a truck and being chased by a helicopter? Certainly a extremely hard thing to pull off, hell I don't feel like trying.
Bestow- Hmm, I know you have something good in your head but I can't quite make it out I'd recommend staying away from smudge tools or blenders for a little while and seeing what you can do with just an ordinary brush. Thinking less grand at times will help too, focus on something and try to get that down pat! Deconstruct a hard problem step by step you know?
Haldor- Sweeet! Wait, who's the survivor? Crits... uhmmumumm... Err, the handle is off from the rest of the sword maybe?
Phantomblaze- Eek is that earth? We going to be enslaved by cruel aliens? You might think about adding some exhaust flames or something cheezy to help the ship feel like it's moving. Also, why so far away from everything? Might be nice to have a close up of the ship with the earth as a big backdrop perhaps? Just a thought...
Luxun- Woo for traditional (with a little bit of digi ) Crazy message... booze killing him - survivor? Kudos man kudos.
Vorbis: Sweet! Morbid but sweet... I like the simple execution but can't help but want maybe just a little spot that stands out from the rest? Splash of color on the noose or his face maybe?
Narmo- Good ol' blue, good ol' bright sand and blue - makes for a nice color scheme me thinks. I can't explicitly tell exactly what's going on, dead alive - coming or going? Use the elements to tell the story, is there hope on the beach? Is he going to be washed up on the beach? You might have had him washed up on the beach perhaps? I dunno..
CupofJoe: Not bad man not bad! There's no shame in going full on grayscale - I'd recommend it actually. Value is probably the most important aspect in readability - color is best for mood really. You guys are all doing such grand insane pictures, but I would like to see someone concentrate on getting one thing perfect too you know? Cheers dude.
Plate: Ehehehe, great concept. I love me some zombies, zombie killing rather. I would have liked to see perhaps a clear defined lightsource and overall color harmony, right now everything is sort of it's own natural color even though it's nighttime yeah?
Wheeh, got 'em all I think? Still can't decide who to vote on, I'm bad with things like that.
Really tough choice between Pixel and Sloth, both you guys are showing tremendous progress here. Ultimately I voted for Pixel, though both are great. Prophet, wombat, and luxun have really nice entries as well. Makes me feel like such a slacker for making mine so rushed, I really need to start my entries sooner than the night of the dealine.
subvicto and Cup of Joe - come on guys, don't vote for yourselves.
Idiot Apathy - a big thanks for taking the time to crit all the entries! Much appreciated. Thanks for you comments on mine too, I'm to finish it up and make it look like I planned it to, and I'll take all that stuff into consideration when I get back to work on it. By the way, the time that the poll closes is listed right under the poll question at the top of the page.
Round 13 will be up soon, just as soon as I think of a decent topic.
Cup of Joe did it accidentaly (read his post) =\
pixeldragon wins imho here too, brains as light sources is a frickin awesome idear
How about 'Mafia gun fight' for the next round? PLate? waddya think?
dude did you check out evil sloth's pimp? I don't think he'll have any trouble
wassup with that man if they honestly think their entry is the best whos there to stop em?Originally Posted by Dilelol @ subvicto for voteing at his own entry....

I think honesty is best when it comes to voting, even if that means to vote on your own piece.
It has become such a form of etiquette to not vote for urself that u guys bash anyone to death for selfvoting. (even if it was per accident!)
its their choice and let it be
No offence further, but i just had to say that
