love your colors man!! and most of the designs are great too!
maybe I'm mistaking but have you learend stuff from prometheus' psg art tutorial? you seem to have successfully sucked in all of the stuff that I'm reading there at the moment
p sage: thanks!
nicky s: thanks ^^
john: rock....lobster?? mmm I'm not 'online' much like I used to be. Looking forward to some goods from u soon
sone_one: ooooh hopefully you'll start posting regularly again?
mike butkus: thanks mike, you're a real inspiration to us all
matejapetkovic: hehe thanks!
AikidoAl: i usually will draw on white backgrounds. the neutral-colored background is more habit from painting traditionally than anything else. Think of it as putting down a wash [burnt umber, burnt sienna, etc] ...doing this avoids having odd white spots where you don't need/want them. I wanted to do an environment on that one, so I did the colored background. If I leave it white...it stays white hahah putting the color down just forces me to follow through with it.
santal: thank you
markwinters: thanks man! I am really happy with the results of the collabs, and am looking forward to doing more with her in the future!
mattgamer: thanks matt!
james wolf: haha I'm glad u like it!
troubadour: thanks! it's so much fun to work with her!!
maxetormer: u reckon? you are too kind!
peetaer: I had a job at a bank for over 6 years, but I recently quit so that I could freelance full time. I am always looking for new clients The general lack of updates is from making sure my clientwork is done on time, before my personal work!
adrian wilkins: thanks! hmmmm about the PSG art tutorial... um I have learned a ton from arne [prometheus|ANJ], and his tutorial, as well as from reading handprint and huevaluechroma.com when it was slow at the bank. I'm pretty sure if I tried to sit down and read that stuff without being a captive at work, I never would have made it through those sites...and I still don't really know that much despite reading all that stuff hahah...
Arne used to come into the IRC channel a lot, and I would ask him heaps of questions about tons of different things, clarifying ideas/concepts and just talking about how panties def. count as armour...I really like to look at his work and figure out how/why he was doing certain things and the effects they achieve, and trying to find examples in real life to apply to the ideas presented. Of course I do that with every artist that I like...but Arne's a really smart guy, and I've learned a ton from him, his work, and his art tut.
Another collab with Clochette!!!
As many of you know, it was Chelsea aka loveandasandwich's birthday, and for her birthday Clochette and I made this illustration for her
For those of you who aren't familiar with Chelsea's work...CHECK IT OUT! BUY SOME ADORABLE MONSTERS!!
We talked about what to have for the topic, clo did the lines and I finished it with the colors and render. I am really happy with how it came out, and we are thinking about selling it as a print...if we do I will be sure to post it here!
